You Have a Perfect Body

A little twist to my style for this one. I wanted it to be perfect for her.

I was listening to a song that reminded me of my old friend, Delaney. The one I gave up everything for. I gave up the life I had set ahead of me, I gave up my emotions, I gave up my scarless skin, I gave up my happiness, everything. For her sake. And what was it all for in the end?

Absolutely fucking nothing. No thank you, no nothing. She just left. The bullies got to her, so she left. Last I heard from her was 'Goodbye', my least favorite word.

Last I heard about her? That she was wearing a long sleeve sweater that she would never take off. She told me of her scars before she left; I even watched her cut herself, right next to me.

So, Delaney, please say you aren't dead. I gave up so much for you. I literally gave my life. Well, I'm not dead yet, but I feel dead inside.

Look Delaney, if you ever see this somehow, just know I was always here for you and that everything those bitches said was false. People try to break things that are beautiful, and that you are, I'm afraid. They wanted to get you as low as them. That low would be impossible to achieve for someone like you, but they did put you pretty low. Low enough to cut yourself. Hell, I'm sitting here writing this and I don't know if you'll ever see it, don't know if you're even alive. Please, please say you are.

I remember almost everything you told me, surprisingly. I have the worst memory, yet I'm able to remember you of all things. Even the tiniest things you told me about yourself I remember. Funny, eh? It's because I care about you. Do you see that? Care, as in present tense? Because I still do. That word was intentional. I've cared about you since you first walked through the doorway of Mrs.Noland's class with a Warriors book under your arm.

I'm so sorry I couldn't get to you in time... Please, forgive me. I haven't forgotten about you.
