{Poems written for a school assignment called "Project Lockdown". Yes, I got a mark for that, and my teacher apparently loved it... So, here you go.}

As the days go by... - a collection of poem

28th of October

It was a rainy and cold day,

Barely any sunlight in a sky so grey.

Spent the afternoon in Lille

After learning that my stepfather was ill.

But hey, I was craving human contact

And I had to help my friend. In fact,

I was very excited about this short film

She had created, and was filming that day.

Overall, the 28th of October

Couldn't have been better

Until I sat down on my couch

And listened to our dear president's speech.

What can I say? My jaw dropped

Even though the news leaked.

I was so defeated,

So I finished my yoghurt and sighed.

No time to be bored

The thing about lockdown is

That it can be boring or stressful

No in between. And with a little whiz

I could hear the problems coming - oh so dreadful.

Bingo! The emails kept coming and coming.

Every new notification,

A new reason

To go mad and start crying.

What a fool I was for even thinking

That I would have time to relax and pick up reading.

All I could do was work, my eyes burning.

So now I joke about it, and I say

"Damn, uni's out there to kill me!"

LOL, so funny.

 Swipe swipe

Little white flame on a pink background

Aren't you useful when I wanna get lost in the crowd?

Well, not a real one, obviously,

Since I'm stuck here and can't go to the city.

My thumb knows the steps

1, 2, 3, it's a strange dance
