Three weeks later

Kriss's P.O.V.

"But I don't want to." I whimpered

"Remember who raised you Kriss. Who took you in? Who entered you into the Selection? Remember your mark, your oath." Liam snarled

"But-"

"I want the castes to stay." Liam demanded

"But Maxo-"

"I don't care about him. Hell, I want him dead!" Liam yelled

"Shh!" I urged

Maxon walked in.

"We have to meet up sometime, gurl!" I gushed, sneaking a peek at Maxon

He raised an eyebrow.

I smiled

"Wha- Oh yea sure Kriss! Call me!" He said in a high-pitched voice

"Bye!" I giggled, hanging up.

"My dear, who was that?" Maxon smiled

"Old friend." I smiled back

"Ready to practice?" He asked

"Yes."

"Mother!" Maxon called

Amberly walked in, standing in front of us.

"Max, are you sure you're ready?" Amberly asked

Maxon looked at me.

"Yes. I am." He breathed

"Ok. Sir, is your majesty willing to take the oath?" Amberly asked

"I am." Maxon said

Maxon's P.O.V.

"I am." I said

"Will you solemnly promise and swear to govern the Peoples of Illea?" Mother asked

"I solemnly promise so to do."

"Will you to your power cause Law and Justice, in Mercy, to be executed in all your judgements?"

"I will."

"Will you to the utmost of your power maintain the Laws of God and the true profession of the Gospel? Will you to the utmost of your power maintain in the Illean kingdom established by law? Will you maintain and preserve inviolably the settlement of the Church of Illea, and the doctrine, worship, discipline, and government thereof, as by law established in Illea? And will you preserve unto the Bishops and Clergy of Illea, and to the Churches there committed to their charge, all such rights and privileges, as by law do or shall appertain to them or any of them?" Mother said in one breath

"I will."

"Then I pronounce you king." Mother smiled, handing me and orb and scepter.

Kriss's turn.

And again. We perfected it.

"Now. Your wedding is in two days away. Are your vows ready?" Mother asked

I nodded eagerly. Kriss nodded too.

I thought about my vow.

How lucky am I to call you mine? Your love and trust makes me a better person, each and every day. For all those times that we've been together, there's always been a mutual understanding that's only shared when two people love each other truly. You were there for my greatest challenges. You encouraged me to grow. You helped believe in myself and become the person that I am today. In your arms and by your side, I know I can do anything. I'm proud to call you my wife.
