And then you were gone

He still remembers that day. It had been an accident. Every scene. Every shard of glass. Every spot of blood replays in his head. Over and over again.

He was intoxicated. His hands gripped the wheel firmly as you screamed and begged for him to slow down. Your previous fight led him to ignore your pleads. Neither of you had any idea where you were going or if you were even going to make it there.

One sharp turn after the next led your body to swivel along with the the car. Kurapika had yet to take his foot off of the acceleration. He ran red lights and was way over the speed limit but there was nothing you could do.

He still remembers that day. That one turn where he had shifted the wheel a little too much. That one time he lost control of wheel. The way the car rolled down that hill. Every bump when it hit a rock. Every shriek you made out of fear and your lifeless body penetrating through the windshield.

And then you were gone.
