R E S T I N G her freshly painted finger tips on the keyboard of her newly set up desk top, Angelica let out a sigh. With the snowy winters of December, and Christmas tomorrow, Angelica had lost track of time. She had been working on finalising the formula for her latest products last week when it struck her that the biggest holiday of the year was arriving. It sent her into a frenzy of emotions. She had to hurriedly get Alexander's gifts and wrap them up. Hiding them from plain sight.

And now, on Saturday, a day before Christmas, she was wrapping up the last of her works. The next two weeks were going to he dedicated to just herself and Alexander. She was very upset when she discovered that Raina would be unable to join them this year. Apparently her best friend had found a beau in Los Angeles. It was serious enough that he had decided to take her to his parent's for the celebratory evening.

Angelica had sent them their gifts, not forgetting to send her parents one too. It was a small vial bottle. Filled with a note, it read "Your time has come!" Unfortunately, she did not know how they had reacted. But she was sure, they must have created some sort of drama.

Sipping water out of the finely crafted glass, she stood up. Her legs hurting thanks to all the sitting she had done since the morning. Her father had been trying to contact her for the past few days. Angelica had become annoyed enough to change her phone number. Now, only a handful of people knew it.

For the time being, she was protected. Protected from their calls. In truth, it was her family that needed to take themselves to safe ground.

"Hello? Yes. I expect that you have done what you were asked to do? Uh-huh. You will get your money. No worries!" She smiled to herself.
The call was from a highly decorated investigator. She had hired him to do a tiny job of hers. Angelica smirked to herself. The end of the Roosevelt's was just beginning.

Heading out of their office, Angelica found herself downstairs. The staircase was decorated with the prettiest of wreaths. The fake leaves wrapped around with fairy lights intertwined. Inside their family lounge, a large Fir tree stood tall. Both her and Alexander had decorated it last night. Placing all the tiny glass and crystal trinkets. Before finally placing the shiny star on top.

"Miss, the driver is here. Mr.Alexander is waiting outside!" Bruce rushed to her.
Nodding her head, she grabbed her beige fur coat from his hands. Heading out. Her and Alexander, were hosting a large Christmas eve party. Usually, Alexander would attend a business partners. But this year, Angelica had insisted to hold one.

The fact that the Reed Corps, were holding a banquet was the cause of flurry in the upper echelons of New York. Everyone that lived in the States was dying to get an invitation. It was not everyday that this mega company was hosting. So everyone wanted a chance.

The daughters of the elite, bought the finest of outfits. Getting their hair done finely. Hoping to snag the attention of an affluent man, and if luck had it, even Alexander himself.

They could have hosted in the large ballroom inside their palatial home. However, Angelica told Alexander that their home was their personal space. And she did not wish to have people that were not close friends, enter their safe haven. Having no other choice but to agree, they rented out a large ball room at the St. Regis. Renting a ballroom with a capacity of hosting 350 people in standing. And 300 whilst sitting.

They had deliberately invited the Roosevelt's too. By sending an invite to all the famous families, they made it seem as a coincidence. But the family thought, it was Angelica's way of extending an olive branch.

Angelica and Alexander had rented a suite in the hotel. Deciding to get ready over there. It made no sense for them to travel so far, considering they were the hosts anyways.

Alexander wore a navy blue suit, fitting his body to the T. Opting for a white dress shirt and brown oxford shoes.

Angelica had decided on a classic design. It was an off the shoulder dress. That had the fitting of a mermaid style dress. Flaring out from below her hips. Into a small trail. The full, fitted sleeves, highlighted the slender build she had. Only making her seem more enticing.

The dress was made of green velvet. With hair styled in soft waves and her face wearing the barest of nude makeup. She was a sight for sore eyes. In her ears, she wore diamond earrings, in the shape of teardrops. In her neck, a beautifully crafted diamond necklace that fell down to her chest where it was longest. Adding only more to her beauty. Her shoes a beige pencil heel, with a thin strap around her ankles.

"You look so lovely my dear Angel

"You look so lovely my dear Angel. No amount of adoration of mine can ever tell you what you are for me!" Alexander bent his head down.
Landing a feather soft kiss on her eyelids.
"Xander. I love you. And I can never express who you are for me!" Her turquoise orbs, stared into his.
The passion returned with equal fervour.

Their moment was broken when a knock resounded on the door. It was their event planner. The guests had begun to pour in. Angelica, rested her hands in Alexander's palm. The two exiting the room, looking nothing short of royalty.

The ballroom, was decorated with christmas decorations. A huge tree decorated with little figures and stars, rested next to one of the large windows. Opposite the large entry way. The huge glass chandelier that hung in the center of the room, served as a focal point. All guests mingling around it. On the left side of the room, were rows of tables. Set for dinner. The tables covered with white roses. Except for the head of the longest table. Where two chairs were placed simultaneously, unlike the roses that rested on each plate, a bouquet of Cherry blossoms was placed.

The centre, and other side, were left mostly clear. Probably for the ballroom dancing. Up in the balcony, that opened into the room, was a live band. Playing soft music. Setting the tone for the evening. And next to the tree, was a long black table. Coated with glass to give it a more reflective look. Behind it, was a make shift bar. Where highly trained bartenders continued to serve the people. While waiters carried bubbling champagne around the room.

By nine thirty, most of the guests had arrived. Now it was time for the man of the evening to show up. The Roosevelt' had shown up not long ago. Karen opting for a grey satin dress. Wearing the outdated diamond chain. She wore everywhere. The sisters both dressed in beige ball gowns. The tulle looking extremely awkward infront of everyone's satin and silk dresses. Their brothers, father and husbands dressed in plain black suits.

"Where is Jacob?" Karen inquired.
Her husband had given clear instructions that everyone was to stay together, until the appearance of Alexander and Angelica.
Riley shrugged, immersing himself in conversation with Rue, who despite his begging was wearing a short blue dress. One she had to squeeze herself into. Steve smiled at Mary. Calming her down. The chiffon pink dress making her look like a lovely sight.

Rosamund pointed to the bar. Where Jacob was already sipping on whiskey. Before anyone could head over to reprimand him, the orchestra stopped playing. The large doors opening. It meant that they were entering.

Everyone held their breath. Ready to see the rare appearance of the man they could dream off.

The guests all lost their calm. For the man, who was a legend. Entered the ballroom with a woman who looked ethereal. Her dress simple and elegant. But the jewellery an indicator of how much she was doted on. The couple smiled at each other. Stepping in. Leaving everyone curious about their relationship.
