Chapter :- 21

Last time calem made a move on serena and she agreed now to go on a date with calem. Now let's see what happen with ash and Max in the meantime. Btw ash right now is 24

Ash POV

I entered the room to see max sitting on a chair and playing with Pikachu. I don't know but I feel connected to him. He is just a kid but he training so hard.....  Trying to prove something but I don't know to whom right noa we are alone so I think I should talk to him.
"Max I want to talk to you. Please will you come here." I said to him and he ran to me with Pikachu.

"Yes ash what do you wanna talk about." He asked me.  Now I think I should ask him.

"Max please don't take me wrong but when you were battling I could see a motive in it like you wanna prove it to someone and when I asked you your full name you frowned. But when you hugged me I kinda got a feeling that you just felt relaxed. So I wanna ask what all of this......Do you wanna....... Prove someone or family....m Look you can talk to me what ever matter it is. I will always support you if you are correct and if you are wrong then I'm gonna correct you. So tell me. Not as teacher but as friends. We are friends right.?" I said to him and I could see that he is shocked form what I just said

"Yes, ash we are friends but.........." He was trying to say but I interjected.
"Listen max. If you put everything in you then you won't be able to think straight. So let it all out" I said to him and I also had a flashback of serena and me sharing same moment just with different story. Then I looked at max he was nervous but then he took a deep breath showing that he is ready.

"It's about my.......... Family ash" I could feel his voice broken.

"My father is a gym leader in hoenn region and my mother is a top coordinator so they wanted me to continue their legacy.  But I was weak...........  So they......... thew me out...... Saying that I'm not worthy to be there son. But the thing that really hit me hard....... Was they also weren't my real parents.... They took me from an orphanage and train me to continue their legacy but when they saw I wasn't able to continue they threw me out...." He said almost on the verge of crying. But then he again took a deep breath and continue.

"On that day I took a swear that I will show them that I was an amazing trainer but they just weren't able to understand me and that's the reason ash I didn't told you my surname because now I also don't know it. My fake parents rejected me and I don't know about my real parents." He said while trying to be confident. So I took him in a hug and told him.
"Just let it out. Don't keep it to yourself. Maybe you don't have a family but now you have me and I will always be there for you" I said to him while hugging him and he cried his lungs out on my chest. After sometime he stopped crying than he looked at me and said
"Thank you ash" with a warm smile. I couldn't help but smile at his reaction. So one thing came in my mind that story of his and mine is almost same in his case his parents abandoned him and for me my mother died just the difference was that I have a sister who helped me in my hard time. But he....  He have got no one to look after him really can someone do this to a ten year old kid. So I looked his eyes and told him.

"Max I could under what you went thew. I also felt this way when my mother died but at that time I had my sister who helped me in my hardest time. But for you. You have no one....  So after hearing your story I wanna be that someone to look after you. Not as a teacher but as a parent. Will you take my surname" I said to him and I could see his eyes widened.

"Wait........ Are you telling me...... You are adopting me......" He said in a surprised tone.

"Only If you want. Because I know max what it feels when someone one loves the most leaves you....... So will you let me become your father." I said to him and he was crying.

"I would love to............dad...." He said a few tears drop in his eyes

"Really max you have wetted my jacket just by crying" i said while chuckling. He also also laughed at it.

On the next day, I took max to our house which I purchased before I was went to competition. It was located in the Santalune city. We spend our time in adjusting and after sometime we get accustomed to this father and son things and our new home.  I introduced max to sis and she also agree for me adopting max. Time went like sand in hand it was already time of evening so I told max

" Listen max I'm going out for sometime so, Pikachu would be your caretaker. So don't do anything reckless. If you both did anything then there would be no chocolate for you max and no Ketchup for you Pikachu" I said and their face expression were worth to watch.

" But if you be a good boy then I will bring ice cream for you" I said  and I could see a smile got plastered on their faces.

"You are the best dad" "pika pi(yep!!!) They both said in unison. I couldn't help but smile at them. With this I made my way out of our house.

Now with serena and calem
(Calem POV)

It was the day of our date I picked serena up at 4:30 then we went to watch movie and go to shopping but in the last serena blind folded me telling that she wants to take me to a place where she will tell me something very important. I guess now she will accept my feelings and fall in my trap.

"Serena when will we reach there" I asked her in blind fold.

"Just a minute......... We are here. Now you can remove your blind fold" she said to me.
When I removed my blind fold I could see we are at the top of an hill. There was a beautiful sunset going on and as I got lost in this beautiful place serena giggled and by her giggle I got on my sense back and asked her.
"Serena where are we" I asked her and to my surprise she just smiled but then I heard that voice.

"This is the place you will die...................... Calem Xavier"
