Lily's POV
Three Months LaterI got into my car, taking a deep breath as I started it. I drove off my block, letting my mind take over.
I couldn't believe I was going into work for the first time since December.
I didn't really need to work anymore, though. I was going in to tell Julia that I was quitting, but I also wanted to say goodbye to the staff.
You might be wondering, what the hell happened?
Once the authorities confirmed who committed the crime, they got sentenced 37 years in prison.
Clay got out of the hospital in a matter of two weeks, George taking four. They went to physical therapy together, learning how to walk and all that good stuff.
While I was in England, me and Wilbur went to therapy together. We're really good friends, now. He respected my decision to be with Clay, in fact, he was very happy about it. He was going to be in my life forever, and I knew that.
Our therapist was this older lady, who loved to joke around with us, while also helping us equally. Once Clay and George were out of physical therapy, they joined us in our therapy sessions. Somehow or another, the four of us became closer than we ever were before hand. Clay and Wilbur decided that their friendship was more important than some girl, even if I was 'some girl.'
Clay and I went back to Florida in February, where we came back to his home, seeing it wasn't as destroyed as we thought. It was obvious some people have been in it, but it wasn't burnt to the ground and the windows weren't smashed. I appreciated our fans for being respectful for that type of thing.
I went home about a week later. I took some time for myself, not streaming or making videos for about a month. In March, I began streaming again. I developed my own fanbase, that called themselves the Rays. I loved each and every one of them.
My relationship with Clay was secret amongst our fans, but it was not a secret between our friends. Everyone knew about us and supported us 100%.
The week I spent with him in Florida had to be one of the bests of my life, even though it was in a hotel room due to the fact that we didn't want to live in an address that 20 million people knew.
Now, it was the beginning of April and I'm driving to work to quit my job. Not only was I quitting my job because I didn't need the money anymore, I was quitting so I could finally move out of New Jersey.
I was going to live with some of my favorite people.
Clay, George, Wilbur, Sapnap, and I were all going to live in Key Largo, an island off the coast of Florida.
Clay did promise me we would live somewhere warm one day, but he never mentioned living with my best friends.
I pulled into the Ruby Tuesday parking lot, into my signature spot. I pulled the mirror down, putting a light layer of gloss on my lips before getting out, locking my door as I walked into the oh-so familiar restaurant. I saw my manager, Julia, standing at the host stand. Her jaw dropped as I ran into her arms.
"Holy— I haven't seen you in months!" She said, still hugging me. I laughed as I pulled away.
"Trust me, I haven't been here in months." I chuckled.
"Your story is one of the most insane ones. I haven't seen this Ruby Tuesday on the news since I began working here. It's crazy that I see it almost every day now." She admitted.
"It's the craziest shit that's ever happened to me." I admitted, not bothering to watch my language.
"I bet. I can't believe you're here, and I can't believe we had to lose two of our best hosts due to the incident. I never saw Rob as the type to do something like that." She said, a hand on her chest. I nodded.
"Jealousy is a bitch. I should have known from the first conversation him and Clay had over the phone. He just— creepily wanted me." I shivered, still not wanting to think of the experience. It was still very new.
"I'm so sorry. I feel like I should take accountability for that because you two worked together." She sighed. I shook my head, rather viciously.
"It isn't your fault some crazy psychopath stabbed my boyfriend and best friend." I said, reciting Clay's words to me. She nodded, looking down.
"You're right, you're right. Anyways, what brings you in? I assume you aren't taking shifts anymore, due to the fact you're an internet sensation." She looked back up at me with a smile. I nodded.
"Yeah, no more shifts for me. Im moving to Florida! Me and a few friends bought a huge house together— were probably going to add to it once a few of our friends can move out." I told her, smiling at the thought.
"That's great! I hope you guys have a blast. Thank you for everything. You were seriously one of the best hostesses this store had ever seen." She admitted with a shy smile.
I hugged her again, pulling away. "This was the best first job I could have picked up, even if it resulted in permanent trauma." I chuckled.
"Thanks for serving for the past five years. You've been great." She smiled again. I smiled back, waving.
"Thank you, Julia!"
I sat back in my car, sighing as I turned it on and drove away.
Yeah, Rob was the one who stabbed Clay and George.
He said that he just wanted me and that Clay was in the way, so he followed us to England and Florida to try and get rid of Clay. We already knew that from his Instagram page. The question that frequently came up was, why George?
His answer to that was so no one saw him commit the crime. I guess he expected them to both bleed out, but obviously Wil and I showed up at the right time. We found them just five minutes after Rob stabbed them.
I can't believe I almost gave him a chance.
But, now we were all going to live together, creating bigger, and better things for ourselves.
The choice to go to Florida with Izzy was a real fucking game changer. If I didn't go on that trip, some of my worst fears wouldn't have come true.
But, my faraway dreams did come true, which made every single bit of it worth it.
I can't wait for what the future has in store for me.
