As they arrived at the enormous den, Bennett clenched Razor's hand even tighter. He hadn't really met any of the wolves. The one elderly wolf he met, was but an uncle's wife's cousin who even Razor didn't socialise with. Razor then realised Bennett worrying, and slowly and steadily dragged him along through the den opening.
"No worries!" Razor had said. It almost looked like he formed a small reassuring smile. This was, again, something Bennett had never seen. Razor smiling. And caring for that matter. Not that he didn't. But to some far away, mysterious point, he cared enough to send a smile even though he felt uncomfortable doing so.
As they stepped into the open, dark den, everything went quiet. The birds he had heard peeping from outside, had stopped peeping. And the strong wind current had suddenly went completely still, causing goosebumps to form all over Bennett's body. He therefore, slowly, grabbed onto Razor's arm and hid behind him.
Razor who was everything but scared, was actually quite confused. Why was his family hiding? Were they even there? They must have been, he could smell them and feel their presence. Were they hiding because he had brought a foreigner? Oh yeah...Most likely. He shrugged it off and took in a deep breath. This caused Bennett's focus to turn to him. After a few silent seconds, which felt like forever, Razor growled louder than anything Bennett had ever heard before. His jaw dropped. Razor was so cool!
While Bennett was being fascinated by the wolf boy, something came crawling from the dark. A big greyish dog-figure, bigger than any dog he'd ever seen. Although, this wasn't a dog, Bennett was almost sure of it. It's fangs looked as sharp as Xingqiu's swords, and was about as big as a mitachurl. It's paws were big and covered in fur. Bennett then realised, this was a wolf. A big bad one. As he was about to run for his life, his feet froze in his place.
Other wolves came from the dark, but none of them were as big as the first. Then it must've been an Alpha.
Bennett then came back to his senses just as Razor clenched their hands together. Right, Razor was there. This was his family. Bennett let go of his hand and slapped himself in the face, causing all the wolves to take a step back. Their eyes widened. What was the human doing?
Bennett shook his head and looked up to face the bigger wolf.
"God day, sir! An absolute pleasure to meet you!!!" He shouted. His eyes were glued shut, body stiff, and hand reaching for a shake. He heard a sigh causing him to open his eyes just slightly. In the corner of his eye he saw Razor blushing. Was he embarrassed by something? He then looked straight forward, trying to focus on the silhouette as his vision was blurry, forming a wolf's face close to his own. The sprung back, heart skipping a beat or two. The bigger wolf was looking strangely at him.
As the situation got even more awkward, Razor intruded. He growled and barked at the others and the tense atmosphere had completely left them.
Bennett let out a sigh and smiled brightly at Razor who was blushing, hiding his tiny smile.
After having eaten brunch, the two went along on their adventure. They went about hillsides, shores, cities and found multiple free chests. This of course put a smile to the both of them.
Oh how nice it was to see Razor smile. Even though it's barely noticeable, it was there, an Bennett was more than happy to look at it all day. Every now and then when he just as much as brushed Razor's hand or thigh or side, his heart would either beat faster, making it feel like bursting. Or it would skip. Either feelings were new. They weren't like the ones he felt when being intimidated (not) by a big bad wolf (not), but felt more intimate. Bennett was happy, and looking at Razor, he assumed he was too.
As they went along their day, they fought the ruin-guard they had been talking about. Although Razor did most of the damage, Bennett would heal them both fast and the fight would go on. In the end they won and got their treasure chest. It was special, silver, and filled with rich artifacts, swords, mora, and primogems. The boys hugged and packed their reward in their bags. This was the best treasure they had found, stating the fact that they had been adventuring for a while now, and that Bennett's luck was so bad, that several times they had thought about giving up just because of that.
As the moon stood high on the sky, they had finally found a comfortable place to stay. A hut in the forrest. It seemed to be abandoned as the key was still in the lock, and things were smashed and broken inside. It was about 4x4, making more than enough space for the two boys. In the left corner there stood a bed, fit for at least two. On the right side of the room stood a table and two chairs. And in the middle was a big fireplace where they could cook their food and heat the room. It was scaringly convenient for the two boys, but didn't bother them much as it was just perfect. The placement was even perfect. The shed stood right on the border of Liyue and Mondstadt, making it easy to go places.
"We should stay here. Together." Razor had said after they prepared the bed. Bennett flinched.
"Say that again?"
"You. Me. Live here. Together?" He crawled to Bennett who was sitting on the floor, counting the mora they found. He planted a sweet kiss on Bennett's wet lips, and broke it right away. He then licked his lips and locked their eyes. "So pretty" He said, not flustered what-so-ever.
Bennett on the other hand was blushing more than ever. "Su-re!" He stuttered, shaking.
Razor tilted his head. "Are you okay?" He said. God his English had improved a lot. It was scary, but made Bennett feel his heart race even faster.
He nodded his head heavily and looked away, focusing on the mora. He had completely forgot where he ended, and was forced to start from the beginning.
Razor was still so hopelessly confused, but didn't bother to ask any more questions. Instead he roasted some fish, marinated it, and served it as dinner. They ate in silence, making Razor worry even more. Was Bennett okay? Did he do anything wrong? His mind was razing him.
As the run was about to rise, the boys finally went to their now shared bed. But things didn't go as planned. Bennett scooted all the way over to the wall, avoiding Razor. Razor was of course confused. He didn't remember having said or done anything mean or hurtful. He shrugged it off, like he always did, and forced a hug, making Bennett flinch.
Arg, why is this happening?
