Prologue:

I am Alex Rider, and I am not normal.
Alex Rider appeared to be the epitome of normal with sleek brown hair, hazel eyes and a scatter of freckles. However, his brain was a mess, his personality was a mess. He didn't know who he was and he didn't know who he supposed to be, but he was certain he was not meant to be the Alex Rider he was.
His parents suggested therapy.
His teachers suggested counciling.
His church suggested praying.
Nothing ever worked. Alex continued to have the deep, dark empty void that sat in the bottom of his stomach, waiting for an answer.
Who know all his answers, all his confidence, all his self-acceptance would be in a pair of hot pink runners.
