Nicole's POV
"Nicole," I heard my mom yell from the front door as I quickly ate my cereal, "there's someone at the front door saying he'll like to take you to school."
I arched my eyebrow thinking about the potential "he". "Who?" I asked as I dropped my bowl in the sink and trotted to the front door.
"He said his name is..."
My eyes widened a little as I stared at the figure at the door. "Wes?"
He smiled widely at me as I gawked at his figure. He was wearing a black hoodie with a skinny jeans and styled his ash blonde hair in free curly locks.
I had a lot of questions but I believed the most important one would be to ask why he was here.
At my front door.
In the morning.
I continued staring at the door in disbelief as my mom piped up, "Nicole, you never told me you had a hot friend."
My eyeballs grew large as the words left her lips. "Mom!" I yelled in shock. Wes's smile grew even wider.
"Thank you, Mrs. Warren."
"Are you gonna go or are you just gonna stand there till you are late for school?" My mom asked in an irritated tone.
I walked towards the smiling Wes and bid my mother goodbye. We entered his black Ford and he ignited the engine, making the car roar to life.
As we drove silently, I could literally hear Wes smiling and muttering the word, hot, to himself. "You see Nicole," Wes started as I rolled my eyes, already having a hint of what he wanted to say, "not every female is as blind as you."
I arched my eyebrow, "What?"
"I mean, even your mom found me hot." Wes said proudly which earned a scoff from me.
I turned to him with a look of disbelief, "I can't believe you are still being arrogant. Don't you ever get tired?"
He winked at me and smiled, showing his set of perfect porcelain teeth, "Never have, never will."
After a few minutes of bickering, we arrived at school. I came out of the car and rushed into the building with Wes tailing close behind me.
The school hallway, as usual, was crowded with students. The cliques were all together, no surprise there. I received warm smiles as I passed the students speedily.
At the corner of my eyes, I saw Lilac and Mia at their lockers. I trotted over to them and greeted them with my usual morning smile.
"Wes," Lilac said eyeing him for a moment, "you look very happy today?"
"And your standing beside Nicole?" Mia added.
"And she isn't shoving you away?" Another voice added in confusion. I turned around to see Max with the same confused expression as the others.
"To answer your first question," Wes said smugly, "it's because a woman called me hot."
They all looked at each other in confusion as I mentally face palmed myself. Max piped up, "And that's a usual thing for you...but this case is different why?"
"Did you really have to ask him that?" I muttered as Wes smirked while he put his hands in his pockets.
"It's different because it was Nicole's mom, which proves to me that not everyone in Nicole's family is blind. All of them can see hotness when it's staring at them in the face....all except for Nicole."
