Chapter 55- Dakota

"It actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!" I tell Rain on the drive to lunch.

He chuckles softly, raising 1 eyebrow at me before glancing back at the road. "You sound surprised."

I laugh lightheartedly. "Because... I am... But anyways, it was actually ok... Cato was nice... I was afraid they were going to judge me, but they were so understanding... Listened to all my problems... I only had time to go into my mom's death & how I feel about that... But I guess there'll be time for more later..."

He smiles brightly. "Oh, really? You want to go again?"

I smile shyly, looking out the window. "Yeah... they were really nice..."

His eyes brighten. "That's great! I can make 1 for... in 2 weeks after we get home... or in a month... whatever you're feeling..."

I think for a moment, staring out the window as the cars & trees pass by. "Mmm... 2 weeks? I think a month might be too long..."

He nods slowly. "Ok! That works with me too! I... think... I do better at this type of thing when... you go with me..." He blushes & I smile softly.

"That's great to hear. I'm glad to hear that... I help you in some way..."

He smiles slowly. "You do a lot for me... More than you can know... Thank you..."

I smile shyly, blushing some in this tender moment. "No problem... Anything for my boyfriend..."

We make it to the restaurant shortly after. I wasn't expecting a whole lot, but we end up going to Olive Garden...

I smile nervously as we head toward the door. "You... really didn't have to do this much... isn't this expensive?"

He smiles understandingly. "Don't worry, I got us a private section, so we won't have to be around other people... & besides, I know how much you love their soup & salad..."

I grin crookedly, laughing lightly. "Well I do love bread..."

It ends up being a lovely afternoon, despite my initial presumptions. We have our own private curtained booth away from any other booth, which is great. I like fancy restaurants, but I hate feeling like people are staring at you the whole time... Especially since me & Rain are both guys...

But Rain took that into account (bless my amazing boyfriend) & we had a great time. I ate a lot of soup & bread. But didn't eat too much bread because Rain said I had to have actual dinner too. Bread isn't a meal & just filling up on bread isn't healthy... & the soup has vegetables & things... I mean, it's delicious so I don't mind, really... It's great that Rain cares so much for me.

Sometimes I forget that people care about me... That probably seems weird to say, but it happens... For so long, I've thought that I was nothing special... Average at best... But Rain sees me as amazing &... I can't help... feeling that... maybe I could be, with him...

Hope you guys liked this chapter :). Sorry my date restaurant ideas aren't very original :'D. I'm not very good at that aspect (especially since I've never personally gone on dates :/)...
