"God...this is brutal!" (Y/N) groaned as they hiked up the pathway, the flood of snow quickly settling on the floor around them. The white flakes were sticking to their eyelashes, making it even harder for them to see- causing them to occasionally bump into the many trees and pillars in the area.
Now, Dragonspine was notorious for it's harsh weather conditions- but this storm wasn't like any it had seen in the past decade. A hiss left their lips as their foot got caught on a dead tree root, making them stumble in their tracks. But a hand quickly wrapped around their wrist, preventing them from coming face to face with sludge.
"Careful, you don't want to hurt yourself" The cool voice rung, and they quickly composed themselves. Their boss, Diluc, had asked them to accompany him on a trip to Dragonspine. The winery was short on Crimson Agate for their heaters- so they needed more.
"Yes...sorry Mr Ragnvindr" (Y/N) uttered as the red head turned his gaze away, scanning the pathway before them.
"There's no need to be so formal, you can call me Diluc whilst we're out" He muttered as he stuck out his gloved hand and helped them up the step: knowing they'd most likely trip and eat a pile of snow. Their figure shook as they walked and they desperately rubbed their arms to preserve at least a little bit of warmth.
(Y/N) was incredibly thankful for their vision, they were so happy to have it. But sometimes...they wished it wasn't a Cryo vision- especially in moments like this.
"How are you not even shaking!? My nose feels like it's about to fall off!" (Y/N) whined as they pulled the collar of their f/c coat up to their face- but it was no use. Diluc turned around as they spoke, cocking a crimson eyebrow as his eyes scanned them. He showed no signs of being cold- he only had a slightly pink nose, but that was it.
"I did tell you to bring your winter coat" He sighed as he peeled off his own, shaking it slightly before placing it around their shoulders. Almost instantly they began to defrost, warmth kissing their skin and enveloping them in a tight embrace. They almost purred at out pleasant it was.
But it still wasn't enough, and they were still left shaking- which the man was very quick to pick up on.
"What made me think it was a good idea to bring you along?" He asked himself rhetorically as he closed the gap between them, and he wrapped his arms around their figure. They were pressed against his firm form- and the smell of firewood was fast to fill their nose. God...he was so warm.
"You're like...you're like a human heater" They joked through chattering teeth, trying their hardest to ignore the butterflies that began to dance in their stomach. Did Diluc always smell this good? The hug lasted for what felt like forever before Diluc pulled away, his cheeks noticeably redder and his ruby hues avoiding eye contact.
"Come on, we still have this basket to fill" He huffed as he turned back towards the pathway, and (Y/N) couldn't hide the smile that graced their lips. They adjusted the coat around their shoulders- and quickly followed after the blushing man.
