What can you tell us about your writing process? We know that everyone has their own way of writing and achieving the final product, what's yours?

I wouldn't say my writing process is all organized and clean. Basically, when I first get the whole idea in my head, I try to write it down as a summary, so that I won't get diverted from the whole thing, if I don't know how it'll end, I'll leave it in the middle. Next, I try to divide the whole story 'action–wise'. Then I write down everything according to it without debating how to write it up in single chapters. Finally, I reshape it with the help of proofreaders like my sister or friends.

That's actually not as disorganized as I had thought it would be from the way you had started out that sentence x) It sounds convenient to have a process at all! We're wondering, which of the books that you have written is your favorite?

Heartstrings is my most favorite one so far because it contains so many things I wanted to say and so many things I have felt up till now.

It's a great one! Speaking of Heartstrings. What was your inspiration behind the book? And why did you choose that as a title?

Basically, the inspiration for it came to me while I was drowning in my favorite love song on a rainy afternoon. It should have made me feel love, but on the contrary, I felt sad and my mind flew to the days I had a hopeless crush on a person I never confessed to. Then it occurred to me like– Hey! I could actually write that! It was like bleeding my insecurities, my regrets on a paper. Some parts of it were also inspired by my friends and my sister.

Heartstrings mean one's deepest feelings of love and compassion. As for N, the protagonist, her diary consisted of that one person she could never really unlove. It was her deepest feeling that she was too shy to say it out to people. Therefore, I thought this could be a great title for this story. (:

That's an original way to come up with a story and its name! What advice would you give others who have faced the same thing your characters have?

I would say, if you ever face something like N have, I want to remember giving up on life is never a solution. If you feel you have no chance with your one-sided love, I suggest you move on and find a purpose for yourself, live for yourself, and strive for yourself. You'll find a silver lining in yourself but give it up as N did. I want you to live whatever happens. Live and strive until death.

But if you have that 1% belief in your system that you may get what you wish for, Believe in yourself and that 1% will never turn to zero.

In all, Fight with obstacles, only then you'll get your peace. That's all

I think this is solid advice and a great way to look at things! Tell us a little bit more about Heartstrings. Do you have any characters on there that are inspired by your real-life or are they just a part of fiction?

As I said Heartstrings is made up of some of my memories and insecurities, so there are in fact characters that are inspired by people around me and myself. N was crafted out of my insecurities and bad memories, Luke Bryan was inspired by a boy of my school and I made Suta give N someone who would care for her. Suta is me. It is because caring for oneself when you have no one to turn to is important. And the plot and the background characters are all fictional

it's nice to see so much inspired from real life and to see such growth within the characters. This is pretty random but, If your book was to be made into a movie, who are the celebrities that would star in it?

Whoah! That was random indeed... in fact, I have never imagined Heartstrings to be a movie haha (:

Anyways, I have thought a lot and have come to the conclusion of having Emma Watson as N, Millie Bobby Brown as Suta, and Joshua Bassett as Luke Bryan.

I would totally want them to play in it... they are my favorite haha ((:

I'm embarrassed to say that I don't know any of them besides Emma Watson, looks like someone is doing some googling today x) How many plot ideas do you have that are just waiting to be written? Can you tell us about one?

It's fine tho...(: and there are loads in my head and currently, I am working on a plot which is a bit Indianised. It is also inspired by my daily life plus a whole lot of my imagination ×). It revolves around a Bengali blogger girl, Riya Roy, who used to have an American neighbor, the Gonzales when she was young. The family used to come to Kolkata only on summer vacations, so each summer was a beautiful memory for them to cherish when they would get separated. The distance never mattered as they tried to keep in touch with each other through the internet and phone calls. Soon they grew up, Riya grew feelings for Mathew.

And one day, Mathew broke off all communications, leaving Riya heartbroken. Not only that but also her futile attempt in growing a relationship with one of her college mate turns out abusive.

One after another summer passed in gloom and desolation for her. His happiness and all sorts of things seemed impossible for her. Until when two consecutive weddings and a funeral were thrown from her office, and she comes back to Kolkata something awaits her which will probably change her impossibles of life into possibles.

This is actually a rough plot, but I am still working on it. And as I said when I am unsure of how it would end I like to keep it open-ended for the time being.

I was actually thinking of writing something that shows happiness shines through adversities and only if we move on from the past and let go of our past self then only we can find peace and strength to acquire what we desire and wish for.

It sounds like a great story and hopefully one that would be making it to Wattpad :D If you could ask one successful author three questions about their writing, writing process, or books, what would they be?

The first would be how do they keep motivating themselves while planning the book.

The second would be what is the most important thing one should do first while writing their book.

Third, which point of view (first, second or third person point of view) should they prefer while writing a book and why?

These are quite the questions we always need answers to! They're well thought out. Finally, what is your favorite quote and why?

My favorite quote recently is from my favorite Wattpad book I was reading a few days ago and still reading. It is: "When your soul is roused by the evasiveness of light that gleams with peace, catch it with your bare hands". It probably means when you fall in love not with the person's looks but with their soul, you should let your guard down and love them selflessly. The actual meaning might be different from my analysis tho (:

The quote is itself very aesthetic and beautiful. It gives me peace every time I read it and sometimes it makes me emotional maybe because of its profound meaning.

I think how one understands quotes truly depends on their personal experiences and perspectives. It's a wonderful quote and your interpretation of it is great :) Is there anything else you'd like us to know before we draw this interview to a close?

No that's all (: thank you so much! ♡
