Chapter 48

Hyunjin wakes up in Minho's bed alone. The clock hanging on the wall shows that it's 2 pm at the moment, meaning he has slept for more than 12 hours.

A painful grunt escapes his plump lips when he tries to get up. Now that the pain slowly spreads over his system, he realizes what happened yesterday was real; not a nightmare.

"Mom and Jeongin." He mumbles then attempts to get up again. Luckily, he succeeds to do so.

He perfectly remembers that his mother and brother were brought to this house safe and sound. He in fact got taken care of by his boyfriend and slept inside his warm embrace last night too. Yet the urge to check on them is bigger.

Walking with a tad bit struggle than usual, he finally reaches the room where his mother and brother took a rest last night. But he halts his steps right before the slightly opened door when he recognizes Minho's voice coming from the destined room.

He does not intend to eavesdrop; it's just a pure coincidence that the older is talking about their relationship to his mother. And he cannot help but blush at the words uttered by his boyfriend just now.

He fans his face by using his long fingers, hoping to get rid of the obvious blush before heading to the first floor where some giggles and chatters are heard.

"He's so squishy! Can I adopt him?" Jisung's voice is echoed across the huge house.

"You can barely take care of yourself, baby." A soft voice replies.

"Ah.. that must be his boyfriend, Chan."

"That's not true!" The smaller huffs, unintentionally puffing up his cheeks, and the action makes Jeongin laugh. "You're the squishy one here, hyung!" Then poke the latter's cheek lightly, making sure to avoid the wounded area. "Woah it's so soft!"

Hyunjin smiles at the sight, feeling beyond grateful to witness his brother get along real quick with the others. But it slowly fades away when he sees Jisung’s state. There are some wounds all over his face. The younger's condition is definitely far worse than him.

"Good afternoon, Hyunjin!" Chan greets him, pulling him from his thought. "Is your body okay? Come join us, I'll prepare you something to eat."

The latter throws a grateful smile. "It's still hurt but I'm okay. Thank you."

Hyunjin apparently has not officially being introduced or met directly with all of the people who live together with Minho - except for Jisung and Felix - due to the murder accusation he got and for the sake of protecting Minho from getting caught.

But thankfully, his boyfriend has mentioned several things about his little family to him.
That's why he can recognize Chan easily - it's actually not because he heard him calling Jisung with pet name earlier, but because Minho told him that Chan would be that person who always went shirtless in the house, unprovoked. He can also recognize another new face as Seungmin since Minho describes him as a puppy-like human being.

"It's nice to finally meet you." Chan smiles. Two adorable dimples show up as he does. "The name is Bang Chan."

"Well, I'm Hwang Hyunjin." He then shakes the older's hand, accidentally see the prominent view of the latter's abs. A sheepish smiles attaches on his lips at that.

"And this one right here is Kim Seungmin."

The latter cannot reply as he's munching his breakfast. So they settle with a nod head and shy wave hand.

"Hyung... I'm sorry I wasn't there yesterday."

"I'm glad you weren't though." He lightly flicks his brother's forehead. "I'm fine. So don't worry too much, okay? It'll heal in no time."

"Here you go." Chan says while placing a bowl of rice porridge. "Eat them well so you can recover soon"

"Thanks um... hyung? Can I call you that?"

"Of course." He chuckles. "I'm off to the office now. If you need anything and Minho isn't home, just ask Seungmin or this kid." He points at the munching squirrel. "They'll help."

"Who are you calling kid, Mr. Bang?" Jisung whines. But not even a second later he accidentally spills his milk, receiving some amused snort from the rest.

His boyfriend sighs. "Make sure to clean that, baby. Or else you won't get your kisses tonight." Then ruffles the smaller's fluffy bed hair before leaving the dining room.

Jisung looks at Seungmin once his boyfriend is out of sight.

"Nope."

"I haven't even said anything!"

The taller shrugs his shoulders, casually ignores him. "I need to do some work, but knock on my door if any of you, except you," He points at Jisung. "Need any help."

The brothers nod their heads simultaneously.

"This is bullying!" Jisung loudly whines.

"Shhh." Jeongin gestures the older to not make anymore noises. "You're such a baby, hyung. But don't worry, I'll help. Just tell me where do you guys put the rag."

"Innie! You're such a lifesaver!" He dramatically fake-cries.

"Uhuh. So where's the rag?"

A sheepish grin appears on his love-shaped lips. "I don't know."

The brother's mouths form a big O at that. "Man... he's hopeless."

Later in the evening, they have a dinner together. Despite of knowing each other for a very short time - barely 24 hours since they meet - chatters naturally come out. The atmosphere is lively, as if yesterday wasn't exist.

Hyunjin finally meets Changbin too. The buff guy apparently accompanied Felix to the hospital earlier to make sure that everything was under control.

"Minho talked to me this morning." His mother, who sits besides him, whispers.

"W-what did he say?" He asks back, playing dumb.

"Nothing big. Just a proposal." She winks. "And I'm 100% supporting you."
