"what's going on?", maki asked as they walked back from the training grounds.

"what?", y/n looked at her quizzically

"you seem like you're in a good mood", she stated

"maybe i am"

"why?"

"yuta says hi", y/n replied, ignoring the question

"oh", a faint smile formed on her lips, "i say hi back, i guess"

"i'll let him know", she grinned, looking through the text she got from ijichi, "today we are exorcising a grade 2"

"okay let's go"

it was quite smooth. working with maki was always fun. she ought to be a grade 1 sorcerer by now. y/n was thinking of being reckless and picking a fight with the zenin family for interfering with her promotion.

"hey maki", y/n asked as they walked back, "are you serious about wanting to be the head of the zenin family?"

she nodded affirmatively, "i am. why?"

"i'll help you", she said, "whatever you need to achieve that. it's about time there was someone to change that damn household. especially that bastard naoya"

"thank you y/n sensei", she chuckled

"we are going out today", y/n said, clutching her arm and making her yelp, "my treat"

"what's the occasion?", maki asked

"i just feel like it", she replied, "let's go out in an hour. i'll call you."

maki looked at her in an amused manner. "okay cool"

y/n was walking back to her room as her phone rang and a contact flashed on her screen. she held it to her ear.
