Achievable Reality

If I could be anywhere, where would I be?

I'd want to be somewhere where people could be themselves without a fee

A fee paid in getting used to receiving dirty looks

All because they don't fit in a box or play by the book

Whether it's gender, race, sexuality, or what they believe

Being respectful and accepting isn't a hard thing to achieve

This kind of world could possibly exist

But society is stubborn and it likes to resist

People are afraid of what they aren't used to

And their only excuse is "Well you just aren't supposed to"

We spend so much time worrying about other people's choices

And now we're all afraid to use our own voices

If I could be anywhere, where would I be?

I'd want to be somewhere where I can be me

(and y'all best not give me shit for rhyming to with to. It's a free verse poem, i can do whatever tf i want)
