The Goddess of Love, Beauty, Pleasure and Passion

With their mesmerized eyes,
they glanced at her dazzling beauty.
Bewitched by her charms,
they scarcely cared about the danger
she carried in that divinely sinful body of hers.

It didn't matter if you bled gold or crimson or somewhere in between,
once you fell for her trap,
You
Were
Forever
Gone.

Falling in love with her was as easy,
as the breath you took every second.
After all, she was Aphrodite.
The Goddess of Love.

Arisen from the foam of the sea,
no being on Earth could dare resist,
her magnetic charm.
It pulled you in and never let you go.

Yet, despite the world being at her feet,
the Goddess of Love,
had never once in her eternal life felt
the hammering of her heart against her ribs,
on seeing any of her beguiled lovers.

Ironic wasn't it?
But irony was plentiful,
among the immortals that tread Olympus.

The whole world was in love with her,
yet she could not find a single person,
that she loved.

None of her torrid affairs,
from Ares to Adonis,
had managed to build a place in her heart.

The ice cold Goddess of Love stood,
as she watched every mortal, every God,
fall in love with her.
But she didn't dare let anyone break,
the frigid barriers of her heart.

She watched the warmth of their love for hers,
melt them and deform them.
But she stood her ground.
For she didn't dare let the warmth melt the iciness in her bones.

The world around her burned,
and the Goddess stood there with a sinister smile.
"Fools," she said as she watched everything around her
end
in
flames.

She stood in the cold foam of the sea,
watching each and every lover of her being set ablaze.
The world around her danced in flames,
but the Goddess of Love stood as majestic as ever ,
in the freezing water of the sea.
