I had finally been freed, yet I was more trapped than ever.
I may have gained my freedom, but I had lost one of my mates in the process. I was once more pregnant, with a child I wasn't sure that I wanted.
Suadela may have lost, but I didn't come out unscathed.
"Leila," Remus called softly. "Are you awake?"
I heard the door creak open as I continued to blankly stare at the wall ahead of me.
"Leila," he repeated slightly louder.
I finally turned to look at him.
"Oh Leila," he sighed. "It'll be alright. We'll never leave you again, right Coinin," he said as he looked over his shoulder.
My eyes began to water as I thought of their missing brother, my mate.
No. I wouldn't be alright, I thought as I absently stroked my small belly.
