Chapter 2-- Spaghetti

Blake's pov

I was practicing for an audition when my mom (step-mom) Nicole came in and told me we were going to Hailey Evans and Daniel Black's house. She said that her dad had known them since highschool. I was honestly eager to meet them again because I met them first when I was around 12 and we had a great time. Emily is great company! But when we went there today, I couldn't see her till lunch cause her parents and Riley told me she had gone to her studio. Let's be honest, she makes amazing music and she has an amazing voice.

I had a crush on her back then and I really think I still like her, you know, I meet her a couple of times in a week or so in uni but we both have different classes. And as stupid as it sounds, I am pretty sure even if I had the chance to ask her out, either she would say no or I wouldn't have the guts. I know right, me! I never felt like this about a girl ever before and it's honestly annoying.

Anyways, when she and Johnathan came back from the studio, it was pretty awkward. We didn't really talk or hangout, she just said 'hi' and they left after lunch.

It's never really quite silent at home but over here it was, Emily and Riley moved in together when she joined college, since it was nearby. Riley is currently finishing high school, she's a junior, just a year older to Andrew. I think I am closer to Andrew and Noah than to Johnathan, cause being Millie's (Emily) assistant/partner kind of a thing is almost as hard as being Millie herself! Noah turned 10 this year and he starts middle school in a few months. The time when Nicole got pregnant with Noah was just a couple months after dad's and her marriage so she settled in just in time.

Elisa on the other hand, I am not very close with her. I don't have a lot of friends or cousins who are girls so having a sister move in was not so very neat. Elisa and Emily are best friends and they always hangout, so when Elisa decided to move out near her college, she bought a house right next to Emily's and Riley's so now they even ride to college together. I moved out last year because I transfered to the same college. Elisa is also studying music and theatre like Emily but she is doing professional piano and guitar, not singing. I am around a year older to her and Emily and I chose theatrical arts as my main so I work in a different building.

(present)

Emily and Johnathan come back around 8pm, for dinner, I suppose. We all gather around the table that is already laid for us, and a few minutes later a couple of staff members start serving spaghetti and meatballs all around the table. We say our thank you's to Hailey and I see Emily and Hailey both murmuring something, which I suppose would be prayers, under their breath and saying Amen quiet voices. Then we start eating. The spaghetti was delicious and I honestly loved it. Hailey got a lot of praise for her food, as I heard my mom and dad and Johnathan compliment it.

Once everyone was done with their food, the dishes were taken into the kitchen by the staff. Then all of us went to the living room again, my dad and Daniel left outside or to the terrace or something. I asked Emily if I could speak to her in private for a couple of minutes and she said yes. I was going to ask her out to a date and see how it goes. It was weird, most girls I met would have flirted with me till I flirted back or did something about it. But she was composed and looked sincere toward us. I mentally slapped myself for thinking so much about it.

Later on, when it was time to ask her, I wasn't really nervous, as I had done this many times before and hopefully with her it would go smoothly.

"Hey, listen, I wanted to ask you if you would go out with me tomorrow night for dinner?" I asked her. "Sure! I'd love to!" She replied and I mentally sighed inside. "Great, so are you more of a McDonalds kinda girl or fine dining?" I asked, and to my surprise, she got quite excited when I said McDonalds and she said-" Ohhhh can we please go to McDonalds? It's been like forever since I went there last!" and to that I replied 'sure' and told her I would pick her up at 7:30.

So that went fine. I thought and went back to the living room following her and then we started talking about work and college and my acting career and Emily's modelling and singing career.

"Wait wha- Nicole you work for Vogue?!" she says, sitting on the edge of the sofa with her mouth agape. "Yeah I have been for 7 years actually, I do interviews mostly. I am a speaker there." my step-mom replies. "Hold on, so that means you could help me get a shoot?! Please please please do, it would mean the world to me" she says with pleading eyes that honestly are adorable. "Oh of-course I can help you out, we were actually thinking about it, you should be getting an email for your 73 questions interview too, I think it should reach you by tomorrow or the day-after." Nicole says and I see Emily's chin literally falls to the ground, her mouth wide open and then she frantically gets up...ok jumps up and does a little turn looking for her phone and squeals a 'thank you so much' to Nicole and then dials a number and leaves the room.

"Well someone's happy", I say as-a-matter-of-factly. "Yeah it's always been her dream to get on the cover of Vogue." Hailey says to me. Riley then speaks- "technically she's wanted to be on the cover of all the big magazines like image and GQ and E and stuff, all that was left was Vogue, and I mean who doesn't want to score a 73 questions!" I mean she's not wrong. At this time dad and Daniel came in and in 5 minutes we were all saying goodbye and stuff. Noah had been on mom's phone the entire time and Andrew was having a fan moment with Emily...again... Well, we then left and went home.
