Chapter 28- Reunions and Plans
"Mom! Dad!" I said, running up to hug my parents after my absence.
"Sweetheart," they said in unison, practically.
"You didn't text or call nearly enough," they said with a laugh.
"But we're glad that you're back and safe," said my father.
"How was the camp?" my mother asked.
"Fine. It was good."
"Come on, let's get you home. We have a surprise for you there."
"What?" I asked, smiling.
"You'll see. Come on."
They dragged me over to the car and I got in. The ride back to my house didn't take long and I was glad for that. The car smelled just like home and I breathed it in deeply.
I opened the door with cautious hands and when I did, a person jumped out at me.
"Surprise!" Gideon said with a smile.
"Gideon!" I said, taken aback. Immediately, I wrapped him in a hug.
"Come on, we're going bowling. Right, Mrs. Sykes?" he asked as my mom went by, and she only nodded.
"Bowling?" I asked, surprised.
"Yup," he replied, tugging me through the door to his car that was parked discreetly down the street.
"So, did you hear?" I asked once we were inside the car.
"What?"
"Liam broke up with me," I said.
"What? Excuse me? No. Just no. I'm seriously going to go all the way to freakin' England and whip his freakin' butt."
"Gideon, no. It obviously wasn't meant to last."
"Don't say that, sugarplum."
He stealthily took my phone out of my pocket, all whilst driving.
