Subdued (Inuyasha/Yu Yu Hakusho crossover) Sesshomaru x OC

Reunion

I've been feeling so weird since Sesshomaru and I 'battled' it out for the jewel shard. I've been trying hard to keep clear from him because whenever he gets too close, I feel my face flush and I get the jitters. Meanwhile, mister high and mighty is acting like nothing ever happened.

Perhaps I should just follow his example. I don't appreciate being toyed with but that was probably al there was to it. It's just his sick way of putting me in my place or something like that. I can't let him think he got to me.

Either way, it was another failed attempt on my part to retrieve the shard and another attempt like that is out of the question, lest I make Sesshomaru believe I actually liked locking lips with him.

He really is a good kisser though... too bad he's such an asshole.

'Ah, luck seems to be on my side today' I think as our journey to who knows where is suddenly interrupted by a certain dog-eared half demon rushing towards us on the horizon. Rin is quick to pull Jaken with her and Ah-Un, knowing how things can get when the two meet.

"Sesshomaru!" Inuyasha shouts angrily, his sword drawn.

Sesshomaru also draws his sword. "Inuyasha." He spits out the name as if he just ate something poisonous.

I should probably stop the fight before it starts, but Inuyasha is a perfect distraction. Sure he can defend his own for a while as I take this opportunity to talk to Kagome now the chance arises.

I quickly meet up with her as she comes into view, trying to catch up to Inuyasha.

"Kira!" she exclaims surprised. "What are you doing here?! I thought you were home! Though this does explain why you were not picking up your phone. I've been trying to reach you. I thought something happened to you."

I gently grip her arms in an effort to calm the girl down. "Yeah? Well you can blame Sesshomaru for that." I sigh, not liking the thought that she worried for me.

"What happened?"

I rub my temples, thinking back. "What didn't?" I mutter before looking her in the eyes and starting to explain that Sesshomaru followed me home, tortured me, kidnapped me and stole the jewel shard. That last part especially made me cringe since Kagome entrusted it to me.

"So, he's using the jewel to keep you close hoping you'll release him from the bind?" Kagome sums up.

I nod. "Yeah, but don't worry. I'll get it back for you."

Kagome shakes her head. "I can't let you stay with him against your will like that for a shard. It's unfortunate, but we just have to figure out a different way."

I quickly shake my head. "It's my fault, so this is my responsibility. Let me handle Sesshomaru." I counter without thinking twice about it.

Kagome looks at me strangely and I suppose I can't blame her. I should have probably jumped at the chance to leave and I wonder if it's only my own righteousness that is making me so obstinate.

"Are you sure?" she questions doubtfully.

I nod in reply. "I'm sure I can. Sesshomaru hasn't done anything... er...aggressive to me since I got here."

"Oh?" Kagome quips, a brow raising.

"Yea, so... Don't worry about me. Just..." I take out the note that I've been carrying and hand it to her. "Please give this to Yusuke Urameshi. He owns a noodle stand and is usually found at Ueno park. If he's not there, try Yukimura's diner, just two blocks away." I instruct. "Please do that for me."

She nods as I back away, looking towards the two fighting brothers. "Sesshomaru stop!" I call, making his body freeze up against his will in mid-attack.

Inuyasha pauses as well. "Oh now you decide to stop him from fighting?!" he asks indignantly before turning to Sesshomaru. "Better late than never I guess. Easier to cut off your other limbs." He snarls, rising his sword.

"Inuyasha sit!" Kagome calls, leaving him to taste dirt instead of mauling Sesshomaru.

I glance back at Kagome, nodding in farewell. She smiles in return before I take off past the two other demons. "Rin is waiting for us." I tell Sesshomaru, who stands there glaring down at Inuyasha.

"Hm." He hums, before turning on his heel and following after me.

~ Kagome's pov

"What the hell was that?!" Inuyasha yells as he pulls himself to his feet, watching Kira and Sesshomaru disappear into the woods.

"Let's just leave Kira to it." I urge him to let it go making Inuyasha turn to me with confusion written all over his face.

"What's going on Kagome?"

In contemplate sharing my theory, but figuring how Inuyasha will probably react, I think better of it. Maybe some other time.

I shake my head, dismissing his question. "Come on, I need to deliver this letter like Kira asked."

I know. It's hella short. I'm taking some time off of work soon. I need some time to write.
