With devastating velocity, a squadron of fighter jets darted across now-night-time sky and toward the metallic behemoth that is a martian machine. As they flew, they each fired dangerous machine guns, denting the martian's shell. As the bullets damaged the hood of the tripod, they each screeched their eerie cry...

The heat ray was raised, and one of the jets was sent whirling into the remains of parliament. In retaliation, all of the other RAF jets present at the battle of Westminster dropped the bombs on the martian, slaughtering it. The actual body fell to the ground, and was escorted under heavy guard many years later, and was studied in secret.
Back to the present, the 3 remaining pilots rejoiced in their planes. But without warning, the lid of the cylinder there was flung off, hitting and destroying a plane, and the martian tripod inside heat-rayed the last 2 pilots.
