Dream <3: hi :)
George buried his head into his pillow after staring at the text for several minutes. He couldn't wipe the smile from his face as the other boy completely filled his thoughts. Figuring it's been a bit and he probably shouldn't leave Dream waiting, he responded.
George: You said you wanted to hang out, well?
Dream <3: eager? meet me after work tomorrow
Dream <3: Wilbur says our shifts line up :D
George scoffed, of course he would've gotten his work schedule already figured out. George was even sure their schedules had been thoroughly compared in order for them to be able to hang out all the time.
George: Tomorrow..
Dream <3: tomorrow!
Aware of how excited both he and Dream were, George attempted to move slowly in order to not look too eager to see Dream. What George wasn't expecting, was to leave the kitchen area only to immediately be met with Dream's smile. "George!" if Dream was a dog, his tail would've been wagging sporadically.
George returned the smile and greeting, if only a little less dramatically, "hi Dream."
Dream moved behind George and immediately started pushing him out the door, "hurry up, hurry up, we're on a schedule!"
"A schedule?" George tilted his head curiously, letting the taller boy drag him around a bit and towards the parking lot where his car sat.
George got into the passenger side quickly, making an attempt to match Dream's over-excited pace.
They pulled into a small parking lot looking over a gazebo and a playset next to a small field. George quirked an eyebrow at dream, "ah, a children's playset." The sarcasm dripping off of his tongue was extremely evident.
"You'll see, you'll see" Dream wheezed getting out of the car and hurrying around to the other side to open George's door.
George bowed slightly as he stepped out, "why thank you kind sir."
With another wheeze, Dream moved around and popped open his trunk, pulling out a blanket and a basket, he displayed the items in front of George, "surely you understand now."
George nodded, "it almost seems like you're taking me on a date now."
The blonde spluttered for a moment, "I don't- I didn't-"
Lightly punching him in the shoulder, George laughed, "I know it isn't," before quietly adding "I wouldn't mind it, though."
Dream then perked up, "what was that second part?"
"Second part? You're hearing things old man," George smiled brightly, grabbing the basket and blanket from his hands and running off to find a good spot. He soon came across a spot shaded by a tree, but where you could still see a good portion of the sky.
Plopping onto the ground and leaning against the tree, George proclaimed, "This is my spot!"
"I'm the old man, my poor back can't handle sitting up without something to lean on," Dream joked with a teasing smile.
George just rolled his eyes, "very funny."
"Thanks Georgie, your compliments mean the world to me," Dream grabbed at his heart, feigning desperation, before mock fainting into a pile of laughter.
George laughed along easily, "you're such an idiot," fondness dripped from his voice.
"... maybe," Dream shrugged, sitting up and finally adjusting the blanket and putting the basket into an easy to reach position for both of them. He opened it up, grabbing two plates and some napkins before pulling out the sloppily made sandwiches.
George's eyes widened a bit, "is that nutella?" he questioned, glancing over the noticeable chocolate on the bread.
Dream looked a little embarrassed at the question, "Wilbur may have mentioned something.."
Letting out a small 'pfft' sound, George loudly proclaimed, "simp!"
"I am NOT a simp," Dream protested, shoving the other boy onto the ground in playful anger.
George shrugged, not bothering to get up, "If the term fits," he yawned, nonchalantly.
Hovering over George, Dream growled, "it doesn't."
Laughing to himself George shoved the other away from over him and sat up, "I'm just joking."
"Better be," Dream huffed, seemingly offended.
George took a bite of his sandwich with a content smile, wondering what exactly Dream had in store for him if they were on a so-called "schedule". Noticing George's expression, Dream spoke up, "thinking of anything?"
Dream's tone was suggestive, but George rolled his eyes at the comment, "nothing like that. Just about what we're going to do."
Wheezing with laughter, Dream nodded, "glad you're curious, it keeps the suspense." He gave George an exaggerated wink.
Pouting a bit, George looked at Dream with a weak pair of puppy dog eyes, not wanting to reveal his true power yet. "So you're not gonna tell me?"
Dream tsked at George, "don't you dare think that will ever work on me. I'm a very hard to convince individual."
George gave Dream a look up and down, not sure if he believed if that was true or not, but he let it go. "alright, alright, let's just finish eating so we can get on with things."
Perking up happily, Dream nodded, picking up his plate and shoveling food into his mouth.
Hiiii it's been a while, I missed you all, writer's block has been a pain since this legitimately was written like a few words at a time over months lmao, but hopefully I'm getting back into the groove :D
