Harry's POV
Once we got to Dunbledore's office, James said the password, which for once he said quiet enough where nobody could hear it, and the gargoyle statue turned into a set of stairs. James went up first, with me following behind him, until we got to Dumbledore's office door. James knocked on the door until there was a faint 'come in' which then we entered. The whole room was full of magical nick-nacks, and the walls consisted of red and gold, with a hint of orange. I noticed Dumbledore sitting behind his desk with McGonigall standing next to him with the Sorting hat in her hands. Lily was sitting in front of Dumbledore's desk, with two chairs next to her. James sat in the one farthest away from Lily and Dumbledore gestured for me to sit between them. I sat down in a perfect pureblood manor, though I was still able to read everybody's facial expressions in the room. McGonicall and Lily looked at me in disgust and James looked straight ahead with an annoyed expression on his face, while Dumbledore's face was calm with his eyes closed, clearly thinking. I really quickly made sure my Occlumency shields were up and strong and right after Dumbledore opened his eyes.
"Ah, Harry my bo-"
"I am not your boy." I say, cutting Dumbledore off, though right after James slapped me on the back of the head. Hard.
"Don't interrupt the Headmaster! Continue, Dumbledore." James said in an angry voice towards me, but when he started talking to Dumbledore his tone instantly changed to a more calm one.
"Thank you, James." Dumbledore said, not even associating how James just hit me, can't wait to bring this up when I put him in Azkaban. "Now, as I was saying, before being rudely interrupted." Dumbledore glared at me for a split second, the twinkle in his eyes gone, but it came as fast as it had left. "I hope you haven't gotten too situated in your dorm, since you are going to be resorted, Harry." Dumbledore said with a smile.
"First of all, just like all the other professors here, you will refer to me as Mr. Potter, as I have no connection with you outside of school. Second, why do I need to be resorted? I am sure that the sorting hat chose the right house for me, being in any other house would make me feel out of place, like an outcast. And no, I didn't try to get the hat to put me in Slytherin, nor any other house. I didn't even speak to the hat, I just let it go through my mind and let it do its job. So why do I need to get resorted?" I asked, in a calm voice. Before Dumbledore could respond James stood up and slammed both of his hands down on Dumbledore's desk.
"I will not have my son in Slytherin! That house is evil and I will not allow it! No Potter has ever been in Slytherin nor will there ever be a Potter in Slytherin Just think of how it will ruin Alex's reputation!" James yelled. Of course they are only worried about what the public sees. Lily instantly jumped up and went around me to calm James down. After about five minutes, James finally calmed down and sat back down. Once James was sitting down, Dumbledore spoke.
"Once you take your resorting, you may leave, until then, you must stay here." Dumbledore said with a smirk. I glare at him before nodding. McGonigall then comes up and stands behind me as she places the sorting hat on my head.
After about 10 seconds the hat yelled out "Slytherin!" I took the hat off my head and stood up. Setting the hat on the chair I was once using I started walking towards the door, but before I could reach for the doorknob I was spun around by Lily and slapped on the cheek, though it was the left one, the opposite one of which James slapped (I hope that made sense I tend to make confusing sentences like that, basically James slapped Harry on the right cheek in the hallway last chapter). Her semi-long nails dug into my skin and left scratch marks on my cheek.
"You disgrace! I never wanted you in the first place! You are a disappointment to me, your father, and the Potter name! When you come home this winter for Christmas break, expect your punishment to be three times as bad as they were before." She said in a deadly calm voice, her face not even 3 inches away from my face.
