Y/n and Diona weren't friends.

But y/n wanted to be friends.

She wasn't sure how to communicate to the younger girl. She found that the young bartender was offended by almost anything and everything.

When y/n began to talk about her ears and tail and how cool they were, the girl would automatically assume y/n was thinking they were fake.

Y/n, eventually getting impatient, started to dislike Diona a little. But after talking to Lisa a little, asking the woman what to do, y/n tried again.

And that was how she became Diona's personal taste tester and ingredient finder.

"Here! Try!" y/n ordered, holding out a jueyun chili pepper she'd picked and washed in the stream, "These are my favorite!"

Diona took the pepper from the girl then hesitantly took a bite, wheezing and coughing a second later, "WHAT THE... FACK-"

"Oh yeahhhh, these are quite spicy..." y/n murmured as Diona threw the pepper far away and tried to tough out the burning sensation in her mouth.

"Here, I brought water!" y/n exclaimed and offered a bottle to Diona which she gratefully took and drank.

"How come you forgot it was spicy?" Diona demanded, "It's a pepper!"

"Eh, I guess the spice isn't that extreme for me so it kinda slipped my mind." y/n admitted then tilted her head, "So... will the jueyun chili work?"

"It might, I'll see what I can do." Diona sighed and y/n beamed, stuffing several of the peppers into the bag Diona had made her bring.

"What do we have so far?" Diona inquired as the duo made their way towards Liyue Harbor for some lunch.

Y/n looked up with a thoughtful expression, "Jueyun Chili Peppers, Bamboo Shoots, Violet Grass, and a couple of Qingxin Flowers!"

"Hm, that should be enough. We can head back to Mondstadt after we grab lunch." Diona decided and y/n let out a 'YAY!'

As they were walking, y/n caught sight of a beehive and an idea popped into her mind.

Diona's Y/n-being-an-idiot senses went off and she turned around in time to see y/n clinging to a tree with a beehive tucked under her arm while bees furiously buzzed around her, stinging her.

"Y/N, NO!" Diona shrieked.

Y/n looked didn't even look fazed as she ate thr food Xiangling had made for her while Diona yelled at the h/c haired girl for being an idiot.

Once the cat girl paused enough to take a couple of breaths, y/n pointed to the beehive that sat on the table beside her, "Free honey for the drinks."

"Tch, are you really friends with this idiot?" Diona questioned, looking at Xiangling and the Chongyun who was plucking stingers out of y/n's arm one by one.

Y/n didn't even flinch.

"Yeah, sometimes I wonder how." Chongyun replied, remaining focused even when y/n gave him a heartbroken look.

"That hurt..." she murmured.

"Y/n may be an idiot but she's an adorable idiot." Xiangling chimed in.

That was enough to cheer y/n up again.

"Yeah, she's adorable. That makes up for the stupid decisions she makes." Chongyun agreed as he finally got rid of the last stinger.

He gave y/n a pat on the head and she leaned into his touch, quite literally purring.

It was then that Diona realized these two were both simping for y/n. And she had a feeling Xiangling and Chongyun weren't the only ones.
