Annabeth's Jealousy

Annabeth glares at Percy,"Don't." Percy takes a step back,"Um... I uh. Your..." Hazel leans in to Percy and says,"You can do this, don't you want to go back to camp?" Percy nods and seems to be collecting himself.

"Anna-Annabeth, what are you most jealous of me for?" He asks shakily. "Well there is no way that you've had it harder than me," Annabeth starts,"My step-mother didn't care about me, she hated me! She led me to running away from home. Your step-father, Paul is amazing."

"O-oh," Percy says with a sigh, "I guess the last of my secrets are out." The room once again darkens and everyone turns to the screen.

Percy walks down the stairs of a small but clean and homey looking apartment. He looks to be around 3-4. He opens the front door to show a beautiful woman with long hair and pretty eyes. "Hi Mom!" little Percy says.
"Who is this?" Percy then asks, noticing someone with his mom. Next to Sally is a fat man with 3 hairs on top of his head. "This is my husband," she says, sadly. But little Percy doesn't notice. (Or at least doesn't act like he notices) "Cool!" he says.

Percy now looks a year or two older from the memory before. He has a frustrated look on his face as he seems to be trying to read a children's book. "Boy!" a gruff man's voice yells,"Get down here!" Percy flinches before putting on a calm face. He walks down the stairs and to the ugly man from before.
"Yes Gabe?" he asks. "Get me a beer," he responds. Little Percy waddles over to the fridge and opens it. He grabs a beer and waddles back. Right before he hands Gabe the beer bottle he accidentally steps on an empty beer bottle which is on the ground. He drops the one that he was holding in pain. It falls to the ground and breaks. "What the hell! You worthless piece of scum! You can't even get me a fucking beer without fucking up!" Gabe yells as he stands up. He grabs Percy by the neck and throws him into the wall. Percy's head hits the wall and he collapses, trying not to pass out. He curls up in a ball. As Gabe kicks him over and over again until he gets tired and walks off.

Percy is now around 8 years old and he is walking through the front door. He then looks up and sees Gabe punch his mom. He runs up and gets in between them. His mom is on the ground so she doesn't see or hear Percy whisper to Gabe,"You promised you would do it to me instead of mom." Gabe grins evilly,"Well you weren't here, so how else was I supposed to let out my frustrations?" Percy flinches. "P-please, just," he tries to say before Gabe grabs him by the face and tosses him backwards, out of Sally's vision. "Go away," he says to Sally,"I'm done here." Sally scrambled up then heads towards her bedroom. She doesn't see Percy, which he is grateful for. Gabe then turns around to Percy,"Well, you volunteered."  Then Gabe punches and kicks little Percy everywhere. Once he's satisfied he looks down at Percy and says,"You promised to be the outlet for all my frustrations." Percy whimpers and curls up into a tighter ball. Gabe spits at him and says,"I have a poker game to get to."

Percy looks to be around 10 years old in this memory. He's trying to walk past a passed out Gabe on the couch and to his room. Unfortunately Gabe gives a loud snore that ends up waking himself up. He sees Percy and laughs,"Trying to sneak past me, Huh? What are you trying to hide?" He steps towards Percy and grabs his beat up backpack from him. He then dumps all the contents out on the dirty floor. Some of the papers land in beer puddles, ruined. Not that Percy really cares, all the worksheets he had were marked with low grades. He'd sort of given up on trying in school by now. Gabe smirks as he sees the paper that he was looking for. He snatches up a paper and reads out loud,"Dear Guardians of Percy Jackson. We are sad to inform you that Percy Jackson is not a good fit for our school. He has caused many disturbances and believe he may do better in a different school. He has been officially expelled and will not be allowed back on the school campus." Gabe laughs,"Wow, you really are retarded. You can't stay in a school for more than a year without being expelled." He grabs Percy by the hair,"You are such a fuck up. Do you know how much of a loser you are? You are completely worthless. I doubt you can even read with how stupid you are." Percy flinches at that last sentence, it's not his fault he has dyslexia. "Why do I even bother," Gabe says then pushes him onto the ground and walks away.

The room brightens and Leo turns to Percy, who is shaking and curled in on himself while still standing. "Your step-dad, why do you still live with him?" Leo asks. Percy chuckles a bit,"No, those memories were of Gabe, he's... no longer living with me and my mom. My new step-dad is Paul, who I live with now."

Piper asks,"What happened to your old step-dad?" Percy smiles slightly,"My mom killed him." Frank nods then does a double-take,"Wait what?" Percy smiles again,"Ya, when Annabeth and Grover killed Medusa, through a series of events that definitely didn't include sending Medusa's head up to Olympus, my mom became the owner of her head. Then she used it to get rid of Gabe. She actually sold the statue and got money, I guess he was useful for something." Percy laughs at his last sentence.

Jason laughs too, a bit awkwardly, thinking about how nice Sally is. He feels a bit sad to know that Gabe was so horrible that an amazing person like Sally would kill him.

"Wait," Leo says,"What do you mean Annabeth and Grover killed her? I thought you were the one who cut off her head." He thinks back to the stories that the other campers told him of Percy Jackson. They definitely said that he was the one to kill Medusa.

"Oh, well I guess I was the one to kill her but Grover and Annabeth did basically all the work," Percy says.

"You need to give yourself more credit," Hazel says,"Like how I was jealous of your confidence, you must have some confidence if my biggest jealousy was it."

Percy laughs,"I-I'll try."
