Losing both of your parents at a young age, it really shapes you as a person. It leaves a scar in your heart that never heals, it stays on there no matter how much time passes by, reminding you of every ounce of pain. And at that moment, you really want someone to put the blame on, hoping it'll make up for the fact that they're gone, but it never does, especially when the person who is to blame is not around anymore.Alptekin Bolat, in his early career, made a mistake, a big one that scarred his conscience for as long as he lived. That mistake caused the death of Deniz's parents. It then was covered up, someone else took the blame for it, but guess he paid it with his life. Alptekin Bolat neglected everything including his work and family when his young son died. Not that he was the greatest father figure before that though. He then developed a drinking problem and shortly after died from alcohol poisoning, leaving behind a widow and a fatherless terrified son, Serkan.
"Bolat". Even spitting out that name made his blood boil. That family had already taken so much from him. They even tried to take Eda away, the only one that made him feel alive and that made him feel all the love that he was deprived of as a child. She just did that, only with her presence. Why would she want to be with a ruthless man like Serkan Bolat when he could give her much more when he could give her what she really deserved?
"You're gonna be mine Eda. You're gonna love me just as much as I love you... Patience"- Deniz kept whispering to himself all the time that he actually believed what he preached.
-
"We're acting like children, resmen"- Eda smiled satisfied as she was fixing her clothes and makeup.
"Just a little bit longer. I promise you"- Serkan paused to cup her face and look deep into her eyes for a moment. "I'm going to make you the happiest woman alive. You won't have to wear your ring around your neck anymore, we just wait a little while longer. Do you trust me?"
"I do. And if I have to wait a little while to have that, then it's worth it."- Eda said as she gave him a peck on the lips. "I love you Serkan Bolat". And she really meant that. She would literally give her life willingly for him if he asked her to.
"More than life itself, Eda Yildiz"- Serkan whispered in her ear and then softly pecked her cheek. He was aware that this had been really hard on her, but the threats kept coming and he'd do everything to protect her, even if that meant acting like she was nothing to him in public. It hurt the both of them keeping up the act, but they found comfort knowing they were in each other's hearts and that those words meant nothing.
They both headed to the company as the meeting with Prince Seymen was about to start. Serkan arrived earlier, happy that this would be the last that he saw of him, and he'd never have to deal with him trying to flirt with his woman anymore.
Eda arrived shortly after, immediately followed by Prince Seymen who stopped to chat with her for a couple of minutes.
"Eda Hanim. Mehraba, how are you?"- Seymen took her hand and kissed it, but Eda immediately withdrew.
"I'm doing great, thank you"- Eda answered, tired of all these men hovering around her when she only wanted to be with Serkan. She felt way too uncomfortable turning everyone down, first Deniz, then Seymen. It was a whole of a lot better when the world knew she only belonged to Serkan.
"You know, I actually wanted to know if you're free to maybe have dinner? To celebrate the project"- Seymen said with a smile on his face that made her want to puke. Serkan was right, Seymen did have his eyes on her and if he heard that Seymen had asked her out, he'd have already buried him 6 feet under.
"Seymen Bey, don't get me wrong, I appreciate your interest, but I demand that our relationship remains strictly professional because I'm not up for anything more at the moment."- Eda said hoping that he would not push it.
