A loud beep made me slowly open my eyes. It's all just fog for a second. I rubbed my eyes and watched the sound. Realizing it was my alarm, I quickly turned it off.Today is Monday, which means we have to go to school. I love going to school, but like everyone else, I hate waking up on Mondays.
I slowly got up from the warm bed and put my feet on the cold parquet. I stretch my back before entering the bathroom.
I took out my toothbrush and toothpaste and brushed my teeth. Looking at myself in the mirror, I noticed some standing hairs. I brushed my hair and put it in a low bun. I wash my face with cold water to stay awake.
When I'm done, I take out my hair and walk out of the bathroom. I go to the closet to choose my outfit.
I chose a white trimmed turtleneck with a blue cardigan and flared jeans. Last but not the least, I brought my White Air Force down the stairs.
I go to the kitchen for breakfast. I put the bread in the toaster. As they heated up, I heard footsteps coming from upstairs.
"Good morning. Lynn," dad smiled as he entered the kitchen.
"Hi Dad. Did you sleep well?" I questioned.
"I slept like a baby. What about you?"
"Uhh. I don't know, I guess I lost consciousness a bit."
"Mmm, are you okay, Lynn? You know you don't have to go to school if you don't want to." He says with furrowed eyebrows, and worry filling his eyes.
"No! I'm fine, I just wish I could dream more often. It's usually just black. You know." I say quickly.
"I guess you're not a dreamer. "
"Certainly not. "I laugh softly.
The sound of my toast being ready, causes me to turn back around. I put toast on a white plate. I walked over to the fridge and pulled out some strawberry jam.
I usually don't eat that much because I don't really like to eat in the morning. I put jam on my toast to make sure it's close to the crust. The taste of the bread crust is not good.
Its a drying feeling.
I decided to make an iced coffee this morning. Dad said I was addicted to coffee and while he might be right, coffee is just to good to be left alone.
Dad makes his own scrambled egg with toast. When he finished, I sat down at the table with him. "Do you need a ride to school today?" Dad asked.
"No. Layla will come pick me up in a few minutes." I reply.
"Okay, I'll see you later. I love you." Dad kisses me on the forehead.
"I love you too, be safe on your way to work" I told him as he walked to the front door. Now it's just me in a big house.
Yeah.
It will only last for a few minutes Juliet. Don't stress anymore. I don't like being home alone. It made me think too much.
I don't know if this is a problem or a sign that I should use my brain more often. I mean I'm smart at school, but let's say being street smart isn't my best trait.
Ding! I looked at my phone and saw a message from Layla.
