Episode 20: The Sorry Session

Mukti and Manik stood there as if they were freezed. They just kept looking or rather starring at Nandini and her mouth which had just uttered these words.

Nan: Yes.. and she has asked us to come back immediately.

It did not even take a second for Manik and Mukti to think about that. Manik called up Ashutosh and asked him to delay the Blue Sea Music's meeting and to shoot the song taking someone else as the hero and get done with it. Mukti called up her manager and told him that she will have to go back to India and she might take a week to return, she did not wait to listen to his reply and rushed to her hotel room to pack her stuff. Nandini informed Chachi and Rishab and then started packing Manik and her clothes. Manik booked their tickets for Mumbai, they had a 6am flight. And they left immediately.

*Mumbai, India.. 2:00 pm*
*On the airport*

Nan: Manik relax car aajayegi..
Muk: Haa chill
Man: What chill! 15 min se wait kar rhe hai! Kaha phas gaya wo idiot!
Muk: Manik tune call kiya tha na use
Man: Haa wohi bole jaa rha hai kabse.. aa rha hu aa rha hu.. Are kidhar hai phir tu! Ga*du
Nan: Manik!
Man: What!
Nan: *she glared at him, and she was very irritated as Manik had been cribbing about this again and again*
Man: Guys Dhruv must be waiting... Let's take a Cab and leave
Muk: Aree parr gaadi aa rhi haina..
Man: Goli maaro gaadi ko, let's just take a cab
Nan: Manik! Enough! Chup Chap uss table pe jaake betho! And relax!
Man: Parr Nandini-
Nan: I said Chup Chap!

Her death stare was enough for Manik to frown at her and sit quietly on the chair near the eating table. And Mukti was impressed with Nandini.

Nan: Let's have something till the car comes
Muk: Yaa, I'll join you.. Manik tu kya lega?
Man: Mujhe kuch nhi chahiye
Nan: Manik, have something.. the whole flight you have been vomitting..
Man: That was because of anxiety that's it.. I don't want anything
Nan: Manik sandwich khalo
Man: I said I don't want anything Nandini!
Nan: Manik!
Man: Nandini!
Nan: Manik... *Sweet voice*
Man: *looking down* ok, fine .. just a sandwich..
Muk: Great job Nandini.

They smiled looking at each other and Manik gave a sarcastic smile to Mukti. And then got busy with his phone. Nandini and Mukti went to the counter and were standing in the line. That's when Mukti broke the silence-

Muk: So Nandini.. what's up with you? Wo kal Manik and me we just isolated you completely. I am sorry...
Nan: Aree, no problem Mukti.. And I loved watching you guys get back together like that.. *she smiled*
Muk: Ok.. thankyou for being so understanding, but abhi mujhe lagta hai it will take us years to reach the counter.. to bolo, what's up with you?
Nan: Nothing much, tumhe to pta hai na I am still studying.. college me abhi vacay hai, 2 3 weeks baki hai for it to re-open. And then I will get my results.
Muk: Hmm.. waise why didn't you pursue Music? You have a very good voice Nandini.
Nan: Mukti I always wanted to study Science. Space me I got a scholarship that is why I was studying Music.. but I always aspired to become a scientist..
Muk: Ooukk.. to tum Scientist banne wali ho?
Nan: Astro-physicist
Muk: Hmm.. well all the best for your career..

They were quite after that, and were waiting in the que when Mukti remembered something

Muk: Achaa Nandini, what was that controversy which happened regarding the two of you? *Nandini's smile faded* Mera show chal rha tha when suddenly I get to know about it.. parr mujhe exactly kya hua wo nhi pta. What happened?
Nan: Wo Mukti.. Manik's first concert tour was going on.. and on his last show mai use surprise karne gai udhar. I was not picking up his calls or answering his msgs to Manik thoda restless and desparate hogaya tha. And then when we were in his room, darwaza thoda khula rehegaya tha and then someone just..
Muk: Someone just what?
Nan: *she took out her phone and showed her the video* ye video leke viral kardiya.. saying Manik raped a girl.. tabhi we were not open to the world.
Muk: WHAT THE FU*K! HOW DARE HE! Kaun tha wo??!
Nan: We have not yet found out if it was a he or a she.. parr subhe jaise hi we got to know about this, humne FIR file ki and we came out clean in front of media.
Muk: Parr this one thing could have ruined Manik's whole career!
Nan: I know! Isiliye I even told the people to not believe in anything and everything which comes their way. The whole #CelebsNeedPrivacy came in support of Manik.
Muk: Achaa, that whole thing was because of this?
Nan: Hmm..
