"I want to channel this fervent desire into the bat!" Eijun stated as he inhaled deeply. Yuji grinned and shook his head, while the first string glanced at Yuji, perplexed.
"Eijun is a terrible batter," Yuji answered simply, returning his focus to Chris and the others.
Chris struck the ball, sending it to left field. 'He's outstanding for an injured man,' Yuji thought as he watched Chris sprint to first base. "His hitting hasn't diminished either," Jun joked of his former teammate.
Yuji grinned at Jun and the other first-stringers' concern about Chris. They cared for him as if he were their brother, which was not surprising given Yuji's closeness with the squad despite not knowing them for years.
After Chris reached first, Eijun advanced to the batter's box. 'I'll make sure the outfield runs,' Eijun reasoned.
He was getting ready to smack it away while taking a few practice swings when he got the signal from the instructor.
'BUNT!' As he regrettably acknowledged, Eijun shrieked in his brain. He wanted to show everyone his full abilities, but he wouldn't be able to do so now
Sawamura Eijun grumbled as he bunted the ball, causing everyone to shout in surprise. "He utterly destroyed the pitch's speed!" Everyone shouted as they saw Chris safely make it to second base.
To say they were startled would be an understatement; they never anticipated Eijun to be excellent at bunting.
Eijun sighs as everyone compliments him on his bunt, despite his best efforts to ignore them. Coach Kataoka often instructs him to bunt whenever he gets up to display his actual potential, which dampens his emotions.
The stupid thing is, he has no idea he's amazing at bunting.
'Damn it, what do people think I am?'I was hoping to hit a home run and bring Chris-senpai home.' the older Sawamura thought, a blush of shame on his cheeks as he headed to the dug-out, while Haruichi grinned at his companion staring at him from the circle with a smile on his face,'For some reason, he's a fantastic bunter,' he thought
"Haruichi, you need to unwind! If you're stiff, you can't swing well!" Eijun screamed at the pink-haired youngster who was about to bat. Yuji sweatdropped at his brother, who had entirely about the bunt he had done.
"Umm... That's what I just told you," Haruichi said as he saw the boy chuckle.
As he came into the batter box, Haruichi just grinned and clutched his wooden bat with both hands. He gave a slight bow before standing up and preparing to strike the ball.
'The outfield is a short distance away. Do they believe I can't hit a long ball?' Haruichi pondered as he saw everyone's locations on the field. The pitcher sent the ball to Haruichi, who hit it hard and far.
The empire yelled "Foul" as the ball sailed to the left. The field was taken aback and scooted back a little. They doubted Haruichi's ability to strike the ball so far given his diminutive frame.
"That didn't go as far as I expected," Haruichi murmured, startling the catcher. That was his goal; he intended to intimidate the opposing side, and it appeared to succeed.
Haruichi grinned as he looked about at the team. Everything appeared to be going according to plan. As they agreed on the upcoming pitch, a slider to the outside, the pitcher nodded to his catcher.
The pitcher tossed that pall, which Haruichi struck with the tip of his bat, causing it to land just in front of the right fielder. Haruichi grinned and dashed to first base, while Chris dashed to third.
"Who told you to back up?" As they rushed to grab the ball, the catcher shouted at the Fielder.
'He's a little devil,' Chris thought, smirking as he cruised into home base.
"Safe!" screamed the empire as the catcher caught the ball. Chris turned to face Haruichi, who was standing on second base with his hand on his helmet. 'He has complete command of the bat.' While everyone glanced at the first-year, the third-year thought.
"Okay, time for our third run! My Bunt was very important!" Eijun exclaimed, 'Wasn't he simply upset he had to bunt?' Yuji deadpanned
Yuji shook his head and moved closer to Ryosuke, saying, "Your brothers quite the batter." He nodded, "Yeah, he'll become a great batter one day," Ryosuke commented as they both stared at Haruichi, who was attempting to escape their gaze.
'Weren't they just fighting!' the first-string thought as they looked at the two.

Eijun dashed over to Chris, yelling, "My bunt was wonderful right senpai!" with his arms in the air and a silly smile.
"Does it really matter to you?" Chris asks as he passes by the younger man. He adjusted his batting helmet before spinning around to face his kohai.
"Come on, come into the bullpen," Chris ordered, prompting Eijun to nod.
"But what are you talking about, senpai? Me, you, and Haruichi are all going to make the first team!" He shouted as he laughed stupidly at him. As he looked at the pitcher, Chris flashed a mournful grin.
'It appears he forgot there are only two slots remaining,' Chris thought as they began going to the bullpen. "We only have one inning left, so give me your best pitch," Chris remarked, prompting Sawamura to nod.

Note~
I intend to write a special chapter crossover with the Vy-Tachibana Oc character. I would recommend reading her story considering it is fantastic!!!
