The song is "Toss and Turn - Flying Raccoon Suit".

1556, Mondstat
Darkness filled the sky worse than it ever had before, the only light from weapons connecting with foes. Mondstat was supposed to be safe, a haven for the lost who had been subjected to the raging war. The building you were hiding next suddenly burst, bricks raining down like any other weather. You tucked your head under your arms and ran out, away from the crumbling home and into the open with a few stragglers.
You frantically looked around for any form of relativity, however, nothing looked the same. Your home city was a dessert of darkness, even the cobblestone streets taking on an uncharacteristic colour and stickiness. Bodies slumped in the fountains and limbs decorated crates of flowers. The shock had you stiff, body unable to react as a bomb was being launched in your very direction, whistling through the sky.
Strong arms tackled you, rolling you to the side. A burst of gold barely halted the impact, still shaking your body and having your ears ring. Albedo was sitting before you, holding your arms, sword gripped tight in fingers against your bicep. He had odd carvings oozing gold around his skin, curling around his cheeks, down his neck and along the patched of his body made visible by the tear in his uniform. He shook you back to reality, "What are you doing?! I told you to stay put!"
"It's gone," you absentmindedly muttered, unable to meet his gaze. Your head hung, tears falling with no effort on your part, "Everything is gone."
Albedo's breath hitched, his eyes roaming your body for any damage, you couldn't feel a thing from all the terror that was happening around you. He cursed when he saw your leg, or lack-thereof as he wasn't able to completely shield you, "Shit. We need to get you - GN!" Another burst had made you topple, the blast blowing you far away from him, up the steps of the main walkway and against the harsh, chiseled stones. You heard him scream for you, his voice reaching you past the sound of ammunition, "(Y/N)!!"
Somehow, you managed to stand on your one leg, holding yourself up by a bent lamppost. Dust and rubble ribboned the darkness, yet once it partially cleared you could make out his sunny etching, illuminating his presence. Your mouth opened, his eyes catching yours for a brief moment, "Albe-"
You never saw it coming, never had the chance to protect yourself or think another thought. If you were scared you didn't show it, you didn't show pain or acknowledgement that it even happened. Albedo's eyes widened ferally, watching the left side of your face get blown off by a speeding bullet. Your body collapsed to the side of your missing leg, falling dead on the ground, flesh and brain matter spilling around you. He raced over to your body, hands reaching for what used to be his living girl. Now, it was like someone crushed a cauliflower in their hands.
Albedo couldn't see anything after that, tears flooding his eyes and pouring like a burst dam. One, two, three bullets pierced through his back, obviously different from the gun that killed you. It did nothing, of course it didn't, because Albedo wasn't like you. He wasn't human. Once blue eyes misted black, the smoke dense and heavy as it fell around his body. It seeped into the golden etching, mixing with the colour, adding a chemical that would bring a worse devastation yet to come.
The alchemist lifts your body, carrying you to the middle of the street and laying you down. An aggressive calm overcame him, he wasn't fully lucid, only dreaming of the gentle touch your warm hand give him. His body was encompassed, large, tendrils of smoke rising taller than any building, claws growing longer than the carriages that would drive wine. This world was ruined, he will give it a complete overhaul.
