His Amber Eyes

Part 1

The sun finally set... It was time to move. When the sun went away the demons stopped moving. You would think that they could come out in the dark but they can't. They need warmth to move, without it their body would freeze. There were exceptions for the upper demons, the ones that were either powerful or favored by the boss a.k.a the ruler of hell. You don't need to worry about those ones though. They won't bother you unless you do something to upset them. On the other hand, the lower ranked demons are weaker, but they are still dangerous. They have strength in numbers, so we move at night to be safer. Not all upper level demons are nice so you need to pay attention to them.

I looked up at the sky...the stars were out. I always look at the stars before I move. After taking a good look at the sky, I started running. I don't have anywhere specific that I am heading to but I have to keep moving in case any demons are following me. I can't afford to face one because I'm not very strong. They would kill me in an instant. I head to the nearest town to get some supplies. It's always busy with travelers. As I'm jogging through the town, I bump into someone. I accidentally knocked their stuff out of their hands. " I am so sorry" I tell them as I bend down to pick up items that fell on the floor. He also bends down to help. I look up at him, I notice his eyes are amber colored. They are a blend of different shades of red, yellow, and gold. I could tell from his eyes that he is a demon, an upper level one to be exact. After handing back his stuff I quickly apologize and start to run off. As I ran away, I looked back. He had a perfectly shaped face and a good build. Just based off of his eyes, face, and body I could tell that he was really powerful. "Good thing I got away while I could because he could have crushed me to a pulp" I said to myself as I started to slow down to walk. "Before I could do what?" I heard someone say from behind me. I jumped up. I slowly turned around and saw that it was the guy that I bumped into earlier. I was pretty sure that I had run away far enough. He was so fast and quiet. I didn't hear him come up from behind. I just stared at him as he was talking. "You know it's rude to stare." He said as he waved his hand in front of my face. "Oh sorry, usually no one is able to catch up to me so you just surprised me." He smirked and said "well not everyone is a demon like me." "Oh right I haven't introduced myself how rude of me. My name is Damon" It took me a second to answer since I was still pretty shocked. "Oh um my name is Lilly. If you don't mind me asking why are you talking to me? Have I broken anything of yours when I bumped into you because if I did I can pay you back" I asked. "No you haven't broken anything. I'm talking to you because you caught my eye. Though I should ask, are you ok? I mean you did smack into me pretty hard." he replied. "oh I'm okay" I thought to myself "why are you talking to me? What's so special about me?" I could ask him another time if I ever saw him again. "Well uh it was nice meeting you Damon but I have to go. Once again I'm really sorry about smacking into you " I said to him as I started to walk away. "WAIT" he shouted out. I turned around and he jogged up to me. "Would it be ok if I tagged along with you wherever you are going?" he asked. Should I let him come? I mean it would be nice to have some company. But he also is a demon. Maybe he just wants to kill me. No. he could have done that already if he wanted to. "Ok fine you can come along" He smiled and walked next to me. -time skip-

I had been traveling with Damon for a few months now. We visited a lot of towns and even went on a few adventures. I won't admit to him but I've grown to like him. He has been the first person that has ever been able to keep up with me. Most people leave after a week. They all say I move too fast. But not him. "Lil... hey lil.. Lily! " "huh oh what" "you haven't been answering me. What are you smiling about?" Damon asked me. "Oh nothing really. I'm just glad that you decided to tag along with me." He may not know but Damon is everything to me. He is my Achillies heel. Without him life would be pointless. He gave me back the life I had once lost, he gave it meaning. I looked at Lily and smiled. "You caught my eye because you didn't run from me when you saw me even though you knew I was a demon. You trusted me to come with you even though you barely knew me and knew that I could kill you at any time. I was so lonely before I met you. No one talked to me, they only ran away from me with fear. But you not once did I sense fear coming from you. You had become my life and that gave it the meaning it had once lost." Of course I couldn't tell her that at least not yet, we still had a while to go. "You ready to go?" I asked. "Yeah, I'm ready" it was time for us to start our next adventure.
