Later that night at the hotel

Because we were doing promotion, we were staying at a hotel for the night.

And of course, because Zach and I were supposed to be "together" we were sharing a room.

It honestly wasn't a big deal. It wasn't like Zach and I didn't like each other. No it's not like that at all. I loved him I did just...not...like that.

The room had two beds in it so that was at least good. At least that part wouldn't be awkward.

I put my stuff down on the bed and Zach came in behind me.

"Wow. Pretty nice room." He said.

"Do you really believe that or are you trying to make this less awkward?" I said, smiling at him.

"You tell me." He said, running his hands through his hair laughing.

I walked into the bathroom and changed into a pair of shorts and a large sweatshirt. I walked out pulling my hair back into a messy bun. As I walked across the room to my bed I could feel Zach's eyes on me and out of the corner of my eye I could tell he was biting his own lip.

"Take a pic it'll last longer." I said, winking at him and getting into bed.

He shook his head laughing and got into his own bed. He reached over and turned off the lights.

I was up for the next half hour unable to sleep. I don't know why, I was just WIDE awake for no reason.

"Hey, you awake?" Zach said quietly.

"No I'm sleeping." I said, sarcastically.

"Can I ask you something?"

"I have a feeling you're gonna anyways."

"What are we doing?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean...you know what I mean..."

"Are we really talking about this again?"

"Well..."

"We're faking it Zach."

"Yeah I know, in more ways than just the one."

In the Middle of the Night

Jason walked up to me, his face close to mine, "I'm gonna find you. You think you won't be back but you will be."

I jolted up in my bed in a cold sweat, my breathing picking up pace.

"What? What's going on?" Zach said, jolting up in his bed too and looking at me.

I relaxed back into my bed realizing I'd been dreaming, "Nothing...I just...it was a bad dream..."

"You ok?" He asked me.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I said, closing my eyes and running my hands through my hair.

"Sav, this is the fourth time tonight. You sure?"

"I'm sure."

"You wanna talk about it?"

"Not particularly."

"Ok." He turned over, and went back to sleep and I did the same.

About fifteen minutes later, I woke up the same way and so did Zach.

"Sav, what's going on?" He asked me.

"I don't know." I said, putting my head in my hands defeated.

I heard him get up and a couple seconds later I felt his arm around me.

"You gotta get some sleep. We've got a long day tomorrow." He said, rubbing my back.

"I know, I know, I just...it's this same dream I keep having over and over again."

"About..."

"What do you think?"

"Jason. Look, Sav, we all know you're scared of him. I mean, I'd be too. But we've got you. He's gone. We'd never let him hurt you. I'D never let him hurt you." He said, pulling me close to him.

"I know that." I said, quietly. "And I know it's a stupid thing to keep dreaming about cause as bad of a person as he was, he's never been abusive and I know he never would be so I don't know why I keep having this stupid dream."

"It's ok. It's normal." He said, resting his chin on top of my head, still rubbing my back.

"I'm sorry I'm keeping you up." I said, feeling a tear roll down my cheek.

"There's nothing to be sorry about. You're ok."

I closed my eyes and let him hold me.

I did feel safe. And for the rest of the night, I didn't have that dream again.
