Chapter 39 - The Promise

"Kumpleto na ba yung dadalhin mo? Wala kanang naiwan?" May dad asked and looked at my things.

"Wala na po. Everything is here." Nakangiting sagot ko sa kanya.

After meeting my grandparents, mas lalong gumaan ang pakiramdam ko. Masaya sina Lola at Lolo dahil nakilala na raw nila ako. They seems to know my existence which made me quite happy.

Regarding to my mom's treatment, Inayos na namin ang mga dapat ayusin. And while I'm away, my parents decided to stay at my Grandparents house para may kasama sila Lola at Lola sa bahay.

Nasa airport kami ngayon dahil today is the day na masisimula na ang paglalakbay ko. Nangako akong once a month akong uuwi ng bahay para naman may family bonding parin kami kahit papaano.

As for Miguel, ayun willing raw maghintay saakin. Medyo natuwa ako nung una pero nagaalala ako kasi paano kung kailan ready na ako magsettle down saka siya bibitaw.

"Stop thinking nonsense. Alam ko kung anong iniisip mo. I'll wait for you and I won't look for another girl. My eyes are only for you so stop thinking nonsense."
Miguel suddenly said and pinched my left cheek.

"Malay mo lang naman biglang may dumating na girl tapos... nvm." Just thinking of him with another girl can already hurt me, paano pa kaya kung nangyari.

Maybe I need to do something before leaving. Tumingin ako kina Mommy at Daddy.

"Mom, Dad? Please tingin muna po kayo sa direksyon na yun." Medyo nahihiyang tanong ko sa kanila at tumuro sa may mga nagtitinda ng pagkain.

"And why?" My mom asked with her curious expression.

"I need something to do with Miguel. Nahihiya akong gawin yun kapag nakatingin kayo." At napakamot sa likod ng ulo ko. Kahit okay na kami ni Mommy, nahihiya parin ako sa gagawin ko.

"Okay but make it faster." My mom said as she sighed at tumalikod sila ni Daddy. Kaya naman tumingin ako kay Miguel na ngayon ay naguguluhan dahil sa sinabi ko.

"Anong gagawin natin?" Takang tanong niya. Lumapit ako sa kanya at hinawakan ang magkabilaang collar niya at hinila siya palapit saakin.

"This." And land my lips to his lips. I saw how shocked he was pero nakabawi rin siya at sinagot ang paghalik ko.

I wrapped my hands around his neck while he wrapped his other hand around my waist and his other hand to my nape to deepen the kiss.

Naghiwalay din kami dahil narinig naming tumikhim si Daddy kaya tumigil na kami bit instead of moving away from him, niyakap ko siya. Napangiti naman ako kasi niyakap niya ako pabalik.

"Why did you kissed me?" He whispered to my ears as he hugged me tight.

"Because I love you." I whispered back. Nakita kong napatigil na naman siya dahil sa sinabi ko at tumingin saakin.

"What did you just said?" Hindi makapaniwalang tanong niya saakin. Natatawa ako sa reaksyon niya kasi parang kasi gulat na gulat siya.

"I said I love so please wait for me. After I travel the world, I'll come to you because you are also part of my dream." Nakangiting sagot ko sa kanya and stole a kiss to him.

"You are also part of my dream and I won't stop dreaming a future with you even if the world is against us." He said and held both of my hands ang kissed the back of my hands.

"Anong against us, approved na approved kana nga kina Mommy. Plus gusto rin ako ng parents mo kaya wala ng makakatutol saatin." Natatawang turan ko sa kanya. Kung tuusin parang wala ng tututol pa kasi okay na ang mga pamilya namin.

"Oh that's right." Nakangiting sagot niya at niyakap akong mahigpit muli.

Pero bumitaw ako sa kanya para kalkalin ang bag ko para kunin ang isang bagay na gusto kong ibigay kay Miguel. Kinuha ko yung maliit na box at humarap muli kay Miguel.

"And take this. This is my gift to you for always being there for me at my worst. Ngayon ko lang nabigay kasi hindi ako nakakakuha ng tyempo." At binuksan ang box.

It's a couple ring that I personally made for both of us. With the help of Aran, nadesign ko siya ng walang kahirap hirap at pinagawa ng maayos.

"It's beautiful. Just like the one who gave me this." Nakangiting wika ni Miguel at hinawakan ang mga sing sing.

"This is a promise ring. Not the proposal ring dahil masyading mabilis kung proposal ring na ang ibibigay ko kaya promise ring muna."

"Anyways, take this ring with you to promise my loyalty to the only guy who waited almost 15 years and still counting. I won't let myself to fall for other guys. I'll only love you Miguel because you are part of my dreams. I swear in the name of my parents family name and to my in-laws family name." At sinuot ko sa kanya ang singsing niya. At dahil promise ring lang yun, hindi ko nilagay sa ring finger niya ang singsing kung hindi sa middle finger niya.

"Take this ring with you, My love. I'll continue to wait for you until you are ready to settle down and build a family with me. Eventhough you have your own priorities, I'll still wait until you made me your top priority." He said this time and take the ring from the box and slipped it to my middle finger.

"Please takecare of yourself, My love. Don't overwork yourself and eat your meals every day. Message me if you are having a problem. I'll come to you as long as want me to come." He said with his gentle voice and kissed me to my cheek.

"I will and you too. Don't forget to eat your food and take a long rest always. Don't stress yourself too much, baka pumuti ang mga buhok mo bigla." Sagot ko sa kanya at bumitaw na ako kay Miguel atsaka lumapit kina Mommy at Daddy.

"Mom, Dad, I'll be back. Please take care of yourself too. I love you both." Sabi ko sa kanila at niyakap silang dalawa.

"Flight ********* is now boarding." Anunsyo nila kaya naman bumitaw na ako sa kanila dahil kailangan ko nang umalis.

"It's time to go. See you next month, Mom and Dad." Nakangiting wika ko sakanila at lumapit ako kay Miguel para magpaalam na.

"See you next month, My love." Nakangiting wika ni Miguel at niyakap akong muli.

And I start to walk away.
