I'm Not Afraid (Clexa AU)

Chapter 11

- Clarke -
I woke up to the sound of beeping.
I wasn't sure what was going on and I couldn't remember what happened yesterday. The doctor walked in with his clipboard in hand.
"Good. You're awake. " He looked relieved. "My name is Dr Wells. How are you feeling? "
"Why am I here?" I felt very disoriented and my head was slightly fuzzy.
"It appears that you were exhausted and your body was unable to keep going. You've been unconscious for about a day and a half."
" so I'm going to be okay? " I was very glad about that.
"Yeah. You just need to make sure you stay tested and try not to do anything too strenuous." He left the room to go and get the release papers.

- Lexa -
The whole hospital reminded me of what happened to Costia and it started to freak me out. My breathing increased and everything started to go black. That was until I heard a very familiar voice.
"I thought this might be tricky for you so I was looking for you"
"Dr Griffin! I'm so glad you're here. I'm so sorry that I couldn't help her when she collapsed." I ran to her and hugged her tight. Dr Griffin was there for me when Costia was in hospital and she's still here for me now.
When I removed my arms from her, I saw Dr Wells leaving the room.
"She's awake now. You may go see her but try not to be too loud. She needs to remain well rested and cared for." Both Dr Griffin and I were immensely relieved.
I entered the room and saw Clarke. My God, she looked so vulnerable yet gorgeous laying there. She appeared so precious and fragile; I just wanted to care for her.

- Clarke -
I watched Lexa come into the room with red eyes. She looked like she had been crying. But Lexa is strong so I'm sure she'll be okay.
"Hey. How do you feel?" Lexa asked me, softly.
" Like I just woke up from a sleep that was too short. " I felt tired but I didn't want to miss out on talking to Lexa.
"If you're still tired, why don't you take a nap?"
" would you stay with me? " I felt so alone in my hospital room.
"Of course I will. Where would you like me to sit?" I parted the space next to me on the bed. I wanted her to make me feel safe and sound. " Okay Princess.'

- Lexa -
Laying on the bed with Clarke cuddling me was great. I realised just how much I'd missed it. The feeling. The connection.
Clarke slowly fell asleep and when she did, she drooled a little. It was so cute and so special.
I didn't want to move and wake her so I laid there in silence, staring into her beautiful blue eyes.
