        °•°•°Freddy's POV°•°•°•

I don't know why I can't take my eyes off you!

My eyes settled on Naomi who was cozy in my duvet on my bed. She had been unconscious for two days straight and she also had fever. I am so glad she was getting better now.

"You fell into the pool and it's all my fault," I sighed and stroked her cheek. "I was the one who insisted you follow me and now, you fell into the pool".

I clamped my hands together and pressed my lips together. The words of the security guard rang in my head. "She was walking and then she slipped into the pool," the man had said.

I'm the cause of this because I'm a selfish idiot.

My phone rang, pulling me from my thought. I quickly checked the caller ID. Sweet Mummy was displayed on my screen. I stroked the little mustache on my chin and stared at my phone. My ringtone echoed in the room, swaying around me and into my alert ears that were like an antelope's. After a moment of contemplation, I accepted the call.

"Good morning, sweet mummy! The best mum in the world," I cheered.

"Good morning, Freddy my boy!" my mom said in a constrained voice.

"What happened, mum? How are you?"

"I will be fine when you reconcile with Kate. Freddy, Kate is the kind of woman you don't want to lose. She loves you. She's well-behaved. I can't even start mentioning all her good qualities because they are just too many," my mom said all these words in one breathe. She inhaled and grunted.

"Mom, what will be will be. But let me tell you this, I don't think anything will happen between Kate and me. I don't love her like that so why should I lead her on? It's best we break up so she can find a man that can truly love her," I responded and shrugged. That's when I realized she can't even see me since it's just a phone call.

"Why do you have to treat a wonderful woman like that? Why are you toying with her heart?"

"Mum, is this the reason you called? You're not going to ask how I'm doing or if I'm eating well?" my voice came out raspy with an obvious irritation.

"No! That's not why I called," she replied immediately. There was a noise in the background before shuffling feet was heard. "How are you, my baby boy?"

"Aren't you going to stop calling me baby boy?"

"No! You are still my baby boy in my eyes"

"Ah!" I burst into laughter. When I saw Naomi move, my heart skipped a beat. I hope she wakes up soon.

"How are you, dear?"

"Unhappy, mummy!"

"And why is that so?"

"I am the cause of my female friend falling into a pool. She almost lost her life. If I hadn't come to save her, she would have died. The thought of losing her haunts me everyday because she is a good friend," I let out a bereaved sigh.

"How is she now?"

"Mum, she is unconscious!"

"Ah! Don't worry. God will heal her"

"Amen!"

"What is the girl's name so I can tell our pastor to pray for her"

"Naomi!"

"Huh?"

"Naomi!"

"Oh!"

"Yes!"
