Naruto's POV

Oh look, there's Sasuke! I walk faster down the street and stop in front of Sasuke. I tap on his shoulder.

"What?" Sasuke says, turning to face me.

"Come to Ichiraku's tonight for dinner!" I say, smiling.

"Is Kakashi Sensei treating Team 7 or something?" He asks, rolling his eyes.

"Nah, he's not." I respond.

Sasuke crinkles his eyebrows. "Why am I going then?"

I frown slightly. "Because I want you to."

"Who's coming then?"

"Just us two." Sasuke's eyes widen when I say that, and he turns away. "What?"

"Nothing. I'll come." He responds, still facing away.

"Great! I'll see you there!" I turn away and wave, even though he probably wasn't looking.

I walk home, since it's still only about lunchtime.

Why was Sasuke so weirded out about it being just the two of us? I mean, it's not like I asked him out... Wait. Oh no. That definitely sounded like a date...

I shake my head roughly from side to side, clearing the thought. No. He couldn't have taken it that way. Right?...

~Timeskip~

Ugh I'm so tired... I slowly walk into my apartment, flopping on my bed.

Time to get ready for ramen I guess. I hop into the shower, and change into just a pair of orange pants and a Uzumaki crest t-shirt. I put on my headband and don't bother with my hair.

I don't know why I feel nervous. And under-dressed. THIS IS NOT A DATE. But...

My stomach flips as I grab an Ichiraku coupon. I stop in front of my mirror. I feel like I need to look... better than I usually do. Eh. I look fine.

I step out of my apartment and lock the door behind me. I turn around.

"Wha- Kakashi Sensei? Why are you here?" Kakashi has appeared right outside my apartment door, just standing there, reading a book.

"Well I heard you were going on a date..." He says, not looking up.

"Huh? I'm not going on a date... I don't think so anyway." I answer, stomach turning.

"If you say so." Kakashi raises an eyebrow, but still doesn't look at me.

"How'd you find out anyway?" I ask.

"I overheard." He says.

"Overheard what?" I blush slightly, thinking he might have heard me ask Sasuke out. No! I didn't ask him out. I... invited him to ramen. That's it.

"You asking Sasuke out." Just like I feared.

"But I didn't ask him out! I just suggested he should eat with me. That's all." I protest.

"Why are you blushing then?" He asks, finally looking up.

"I-I'm gonna be late." I walk past him, trying to calm my face down. I can't show up already blushing. That's just creepy.

I walk quickly to Ichiraku's, but slow down once I get close. I peer around the corner of a fence, seeing Ichiraku's empty, but open.

Good. I'm here first. I'll wait here until Sasuke appears. If he comes.
