Ryder had left the Blue Lakes pack and headed back to his territory, promising to stop over at the Grey Mount pack, taking Vivienne back to her father.
He had a few things he needed to take care of back home and he was itching to be in Savannah's arms again. He would return once he had more information on the Forged and news on trustworthy alliances. Hopefully once he returned to visit his brother and sister, Madison would be there for him to meet as well.
Hunter's POV
We're all hanging around outside chatting after my brother drove away. While Brook was saying something about Rayne starting school the following day I noticed Merrick and Cassandra deep in conversation away from everyone else. It's nice to see Merrick taking Cass seriously as his head warrior. It makes her feel included and that strengthens her internally. I couldn't help but smile.
I was so caught up in my own thought of what was happening in my own pack that I didn't even notice the first slap I received from my sister.
"Oiy! Are you even listening to me?" Brook slaps my arm again raising her voice trying to snap me out of my bubble.
"Sorry." I said rubbing the embarrassment off my face with the palm of my hand.
"Where on earth did you disappear to?" She now starts laughing at me to which I can only smile.
"Things to come." I said once I could see she wasn't going to let a look change the subject.
Her hands come up to her face in a set of preyer hands. "Oh my word of coarse, Madison's coming." She suddenly squeals in delight. " We must have a special dinner. No! A party." She squeals even higher. Her squeals then catch Michael's attention who comes over.
"A party?" Michael instantly starts jumping up and down like a teenager who's allowed out the house on their own for their birthday. Great, now there are two squealing enthusiasts standing in front of me. Both feeding each others excitement and ideas on what should be done.
"Guys, please the last thing I need is for her to run away, again. So, can we keep it something simple?" I try my best to curb them a bit. But by their looks.... I doubt they appreciated my input.
Logan comes over and nudges my shoulder. "What's going on with these two now?"
I look at him rolling my eyes. "They're planning on scaring the shit out of my mate." I said dryly, which earnt me a slap on my arm from Brook.
"No we're not. We just want to show her how happy are are having her. That's all." Her and Michael stomp off. Michael turning his head towards us, pulling out his tongue at us.
"Are you sure he didn't lie about his age?" Logan asks chuckling at Michael's behavior.
"Yeah, please can I ask you to keep an eye on those two." I tell him making sure to over exaggerate my distress.
Logan laughs whole heartedly and agrees.
I turn back to see if Merrick is done with Cass. I wanted to find out more about this guy Madison was with. If she knew him personally, I wanted the low down. I needed to know who's been around my mate. Merrick was already walking over to us, however, Cass was gone.
"Hey Mer. Where did Cass go?" I asked hoping she hadn't gone too far.
"She said she needed to go hunt. Why? What's up?" He replied to my instant facial drop.
"Just wanted to hear more about this Tom guy that's with Madison." I answered before I got pressed by either if not both Logan and himself.
He tried putting me at ease saying that both would be here within the next day or so. It was something I couldn't wait for. To finally see my mate, face to face. Within arms reach. Man did I long to hold her in my arms. Smell that intoxicating scent of hers. I've waited years for my mate and then when she ran I had to anognisingly wait two whole extra months.
