10 September, 1888
To The Daily Telegraph,
It has come to my attention that there's attention, and those in Scotland Yard, that no progress has been made in the urgent matter of The London Ripper.
There has been several murders in the Whitechapel and East End area. The city is not safe...There's a sense of racial and religious violence in England...
...We have no progress in matters of law and crime.
...And now, as we end the year of 1888, we are not celebrating a good year. Horror has arrived in England, that is full of evil.
And so, in the end, we must take care of the Ripper, before it's too late.
Yours sincerely,
George Lusk, (Chairman), Home Secretary Henry Matthews, and Joseph Aarons, (Treasurer),
The Whitechapel Vigilance Committee
