Chapter 2 | Mentation

"He almost got into what?"

Soobin were surprised when HueningKai told him about his last class jut now.

"He wasnt paying attention to class." HueningKai chuckled.

"I was busy planning our vacation!" Beomgyu defended himself.

"But thank god, he let Beomgyu off since its last day of school."
Hueningkai pointed out as they walk down the stairs out from the school foyer.

The three saw Yeonjun and Taehyun waiting for them beside the nearby bench.

Soobin went to stand beside Yeonjun when he realize that Kai and Beomgyu wasnt by his side.

He turned around confused and there he saw the two mischievious boy.

"What in the-"
Soobin muttered under his breath while Yeonjun and Taehyun laughed at their action.

Beomgyu and Kai,had their bag raised upside down,zipped unlocked wide open just above the trashbin.

Shaking the bag recklessly,they were throwing i mean dumping paper out from their bag.

After satisfied at their own work, the two boys shared a proud high-five.

"Yes bij, we're totally in for a long break."
Beomgyu laughed as the two walked over to the others.

Yeonjun shook his head laughing at their sillyness.

"We're going for camping?" Soobin asked mentioning the plan again.

"Yeah, what do you think?" Beomgyu smiled.

"Camping?" Taehyun raised an eyebrow " in summer?"

"Its summer," Beomgyu rolled his eyes as if he state the obvious.
" Its fun time!"

"Ofcourse i'm in!"
HueningKai nodded his head.
" Dad were kinda asked me yesterday if i have plan with you guys this summer."

"I'll see what my mun say in this." Taehyun said and Soobin nodded along too.

"Hyung?" Soobin asked the suddenly quiet elder.

"I'll try ask one of them later."

"Good!"
Beomgyu clasped his hands together.
" group video call later, after dinner!"

Yeonjun got home from school, he indeed took the bus home.

Plopping himself down on the beanbag, his hair soaking wet from getting caught in the rain outside(yeah it rain for short while just now.)

He leaned his head bag and stared at the ceiling.

'Great! Here we go again, me in a lonely house alone.'

He slumped deeper into his seat,rubbing his eyes tiredly.
Thinking he might catch cold, he forced himself up and took his towel off from his chair and head to shower.

Done showering and he finally in his comfortable casual clothes.
He was drying his hair when his phone light up with a ding.

The screen showed a new message from his friends groupchat.

Dad said i can take the pool out.

hyuka:
Hes helping me set it up later.

bamgyu:
Yeshh

Mum said i can go as long as its with you guys.

choisoobinppang:

I m currently running an errands.

choisoobinppang:
I'll ask my parents later, but just continue the planning and preparations, just in case.

Yeonjun were about to type when he heard the front door.
'mum's home.'

He peeked his head out from the door of his room, and saw Mrs.Choi busy talking on the phone as she head to the bedroom.

So, the boy decide to let her rest and brought up the topic later.

"Yeonjun, come eat!"

He heard his mum called.
"I ordered takeouts!"

Putting down Taehyun's comic he been reading,
e stood up from 'laying on stomach' position and head out to the living room.

He sat himself beside his mother whos flipping the channel on tv, remote controller in her hand.

Finally settling down on her usual soap opera show,  she nonchalantly grabbed her chopstick and began to eat.

After a good while, Yeonjun had finished his food.
'this is it..'

He glanced at his mum whos eyebrows were frowning too immersed in watching the show.

Yeonjun dont know why this is so nervewrecking.
He gulped silently before starting.
Now or never.

"Umm..." He trailed hoping to catch her attention."Mum?"

Mrs.Choi hummed in response as she continue eating her noodle.

"The boys and i were planning our summer break.
And they wanted me to go camping with them..."

He glanced at her and saw her waiting for his sentence.

"So..." He ended his sentence with a nervous smile.
"Can i go?

"No."

Her blunt statement caught the boy offguard.
He looked at her in confusion.

She began her eating back, like its not big deal.
"I need you to stay to watch over the house."

"For the whole summer?" Yeonjun inquired, still in disbelief.

"I'm working most of the time and," she pursed her lips. " Your father is always out."

"but i-" his words were cutted off by the ringing of her cellphone.

He shot the vibrating phone a 'are-you-serious' look, clearly annoyed.

She picked up her phone from the coffee table, immediately standing up.
"I need to take this call."

With that, she left to her workroom to answer the call.

Yeonjun sighed as he stood up,walking to the kitchen and threw his leftover.
He fished out his phone from his phone, immediately going through the groupchat as he went to his room.

Closing the door after him, he type away

I can't go.

After typing those three words,he threw his phone on the bed and distracted himself by playing overwatch all night long.
