A/N: I combined the film version and Broadway version of King Of New York since I thought it would make sense for the story. I also gave Philippa the beginning of the first chorus that Racetrack sings in King Of New York, and I gave Skittery the part that Jack sings in King Of New York since I thought it would fit the story better.

That same morning that Jack had gotten the letter from Crutchy, Philippa, David, Les, and the other Manhattan newsies were in front of the World distribution center.

All newsies:
Open the gates and seize the day!
Don't be afraid and don't delay!
Nothing can break us!
No one can make us give our rights away!
Arise and seize the day!

A delivery cart rushed through to the distribution center. The newsies and scabs had begun another stand off.

"Alright. Everyone remain calm," David said.

Philippa decided to assume the leader role that Jack originally had. She decided that she and the other newsies should fight and win the strike for Crutchy.

"Let's soak 'em for Crutchy," Philippa shouted.

The newsies began charge towards the scabs, who retreated. A large door opened and big men with clubs and chains came out.

"Pips! Dave! The Crib," Racetrack said.
"We can take 'em, Race," the seventeen year old girl said.

The men formed a circle around Philippa and David so none of the newsies could help them. Then, the gates closed, and Denton and Katherine couldn't get in to help.

"Heya, Pipsqueak," Oscar said in a taunting voice.

Philippa faced a man with a chain. Outside, Denton and Katherine tried to get in.

"Aren't you going to stop them, sir," Denton asked.

"Don't you realize that grown men are beating up innocent children," Katherine asked.

"Move along, you two," a policeman said.

As all hope seemed lost for Philippa and the Manhattan newsies, a bunch of newsies appeared on the rooftops, including Spot.

"Never fear, Brooklyn is here," Spot said with a smile.

"It's Brooklyn," Mush exclaimed with a smile.

The newsies started to soak the Crib. The Brooklyn boys were using their
sling shots. Racetrack threw his hands in the air and sat on a ledge.

"Hey, I give up. Alright, alright. I give up," Racetrack said.

Then, Racetrack kicked the guy where it would hurt him the most.

"Hey, Spot," Philippa shouted.

Newsies punched the scabs. Racetrack fought a few. Then, Philippa knocked out a few. After that, Skittery got hit and fell back. A couple of newsies caught him.
