{Ed Nygma Short Story}

𝙏𝙃𝙀𝙈𝙀: 𝙈𝙤𝙫𝙞𝙚 𝙉𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩

I swung my legs back and forth, my slippers brushing against the carpeted floor. I was wearing my favorite pair today. They were an adorable pair of light pink bunnies with white tails on the heels. I loved them very much, not only because they were adorable, but because my boyfriend gave them to me as a birthday gift. He told me how he saw them in the store one day and instantly knew I would love them. And to no surprise, I did.

A smile formed on my face as I glanced to the clock mounted on the wall.

'4:30'

Ed should be home soon. I should get ready!

I stood up from my seat on the couch and walked into our shared bedroom, planning on finding something cute to wear. Edward's job as the forensics examiner at the G.C.P.D was surprisingly hectic. Sometimes, he would stay late to continue examining a body, hoping to discover something. Other times, he would come home, fed up with the treatment he received at his place of work.

It made your blood boil thinking of how Ed was treated at work, all because he was obsessed with riddles. They were all a bunch of prudes, sure some of the cops were nice, but even they had their moments.

You let out a sigh as you looked through your closet, trying to find something Edward would like. Tonight was movie night for the two of you. Sometimes you would watch Disney, sometimes horror, other times you would watch comedy. Today, however, you were going to watch 'The Pirates of the Caribbean'. Edward had suggested it, apparently he has a fascination with pirates.

After a while of looking through your options, you had come to a decision. You pulled out one of Ed's button up shirts, it was a dark green, and it was huge on you. Satisfied, you slipped it on, and buttoned up all except the top two buttons. Originally, you were going to wear pants, but decided against it, choosing instead to wear your black boy-shorts with daises scattered on the fabric(it's like underwear but shorts they are so comfy omg). You looked over yourself in the mirror as you put your hair into a cute messy bun. There, now you were ready.

Walking back out into the room, you decided to head towards the kitchen to get a drink. As you opened up the cabinet, you heard the front door's lock click. As the door pushed open, the figure of a tall man walked into sight. It was Eddie! His eyes were dull and his plaid coat rest heavy on his shoulders. He must of had a rough day.

"Hey, sweetheart. I'm sorry it took me so long. Traffic was rather hea-"

You cut Ed off as you ran towards him and jumped on him, your arms wrapping around his chest. he was significantly taller than you.
