Redemption Through Jesus

44 19 15

Wandering in the darkness of false light
Caught by our own lies, held by bonds tight
No man or power on earth fit to win the fight

Helpless in our hate and anger
Deeds done darkly, heedless of danger
Death our due, evil unhidden from the Light Ranger

At the feet of the gallows, hope springs
A gentle hand whisks us away, a voice rings
Calling us heirs and children, queens and kings

Scarlet ran from sword that pierced his side
On the Calvary cross he died, reversing the tide
Sending victory bells singing, healing the divide

NOTE: In case this is puzzling, I used the term Light Ranger, partly because it rhymes, partly as a reference to Aragorn (if you chose to view The Lord of the Rings as an allegory-type story) partly because several passages in the Bible refer to God as "the Light of the World". For this poem it means God :)
