4. Merchant's Sincerity and Trust
Translator: Guy Gone Bad

Mo Yanzhi didn't know about Han Tingxuan's plan. So when he saw Han Tingxuan stopping in front of one of the two biggest restaurants in the town, Restaurant of Bon Appetite, his heart skipped a beat. Then he struggled to say, "We don't have so much money to have a meal inside. How about next time?"

Han Tingxuan knew that they didn't have so much money. He didn't come here to eat but to make money! However... Before he succeeded, he could not say anything to Mo Yanzhi.

Thus, Han Tingxuan asked, "Yanzhi, which restaurant do you often sell the wild animals to?"

Mo Yanzhi, who had always been called by the full name, was stunned when Han Tingxuan called him “Yanzhi”. He immediately answered, "It's another restaurant."

"Why don't you choose this one?" asked Han Tingxuan. "I think this restaurant is quite famous."

"They have a special supply channel, and they don't buy in retail. I can't guarantee that I can  provide supplies every day of the year, let alone the amount they need."

"I see." Han Tingxuan nodded. "We are short of money now, so we might try again. I thought of a good way to convince the owner of the restaurant. I'll go in and try. You wait for me outside.”

Mo Yanzhi immediately said, "I'll go in with you."

Han Tingxuan looked at Mo Yanzhi with surprise.

Mo Yanzhi pursed his lips and said, "If that's the case, it doesn't matter even if you encounter that shopkeeper Zhou."

Han Tingxuan was stunned. After searching for his memory, he realized that he had a grudge with one of the two shopkeepers of this restaurant. There were two shopkeepers at this restaurant. Shopkeeper Qian, the chief shopkeeper, was no longer in charge. Mostly, Shopkeeper Zhou, the vice shopkeeper, was running the restaurant.

The original owner once worked with two ruffians to make troubles to one of Shopkeeper Zhou's nephews. That was how the contradiction was formed. Shopkeeper Zhou once threatened the original owner that he would not go easy on him if he came again. From then on, the original owner basically detoured this place.

But on the way there, Han Tingxuan inquired about the restaurant. Restaurant of Bon Appetite was not bad in most people's impression.

They had a grudge. Han Tingxuan laughed even more. He was having a problem of finding an excuse to get in the restaurant. But now there was an excuse. "I will be fine. Yanzhi, I'll go in by myself. You wait outside.”

Mo Yanzhi was about to say something when Han Tingxuan said firmly, "Be obedient."

Mo Yanzhi was stunned and kept quiet. "Okay, then I'll wait for you outside."

Han Tingxuan felt it weird that Mo Yanzhi could be so obedient, but his heart was melt down. He patted Mo Yanzhi's shoulder and walked inside.

When the waiter saw Han Tingxuan enter the door, he immediately came up to greet him, with despise in his eyes. However, he managed to cover it up very well. In an instant, he smiled and greeted him. "A table for one? Do you prefer hall seats or private room seats?

Han Tingxuan also knew what kind of person the original owner was. This waiter was well trained as he didn't come up to chase him away. No wonder the restaurant was popular.

Han Tingxuan smiled. His smile was neither humble nor arrogant, but very natural. "Sir, I came to apologize to your Shopkeeper Zhou. I also have a gift for him as a way to apologize."

The waiter was stunned and instinctively looked over at the counter.

It was not the rush hour. There were not many customers at this time. In fact, Zhou Lin had already heard what Han Tingxuan said and was surprised and suspicious about what Han Tingxuan said.

The waiter brought Han Tingxuan over since Shopkeeper Zhou did not say anything nor object.

"Shopkeeper Zhou, what happened last time was my mistake. This time, I came to apologize to you with sincerity. I even brought a gift. Can you give me time it takes to drink a cup of tea?"

Han Tingxuan looked very sincere.

Zhou Lin frowned and looked at Han Tingxuan without saying a word. He only felt that the way this person spoke or acted was not the same as before.

At this moment, Han Tingxuan continued, "I know that I used to make a lot of troubles for no reason. After this serious illness, I decided to get things right and be a better man. I hope that you forgive me. And I promise that you would be interested in the gift I brought.”

Zhou Lin still did not say anything, but after a moment of silence, he finally said lightly, "Come with me."

Then, Han Tingxuan followed Zhou Lin to the second floor.

Han Tingxuan, who was following him, let out a sigh of relief. He was not afraid that Shopkeeper Zhou would not accept his 'gift', but he was afraid that Shopkeeper Zhou did not want to talk to him at all! or did not even give him a chance to talk business!

It was a nice start, wasn’t it?

As expected, sincerity and trust were major factors for businessmen since ancient times.
