"Ladies and Gentleman!" The Empror boomed from above the ball. Luz craned her neck upwards at the top of the main tower. "The traitor to the Empire, Luz The Human, currently hides amongst yourselves. If she is not found, everyone in this ballroom will be punished by my hand!" At Belos' announcement everyone started to rip off each other's masks. The hair on the back of Luz's neck started to stand on end and a familiar whisper found her ear. Down. Get down. Ground. Get on the ground. Luz took the whisper's order and got down on her hands and knees climbing in between legs and open space between people. Once she made it too the outside of the savage crowd she got up, before bumping into a pair of coven guards who gripped her wrists before ripping off her mask. Luz flashed them a flashy grin.

"Hey fellas, maybe I could-" They cut her off by dragging her out of the ball room. "I'm the inspector?" She laughed out, before sighing as they started their long walk to the top of the main tower where Belos was. "Ya know this time I had thought this plan was full proof but apparently I was wrong." Luz laughed out as the guards dragged her along with them.

"Maybe you planning isn't really in your repertoire." One of the guards said. Luz's eyes widened at the fact the guard actually spoke to her.

"Ya know what? Maybe you're right, Say, what's your name?" Luz asked. It took a moment before the guard answered.

"James."

"James, that's a nice name, I'll remember that. Do you have any kids James?" While it was odd Luz was making conversation with one of the guards who was most likely taking her to her death, she found it rather comforting that even her enemies could have a sliver of a heart.

"Yes, a 2 year old girl, Jamie. She was named after her mother, who passed a few days after she was born." Luz may have to change her last thought from sliver of a heart to just a heart. The fact that this man's little girl has to grow up without a mom tugged at her own heart strings considering she lost her father when she was around that age.

"Well James, can you do me a favor?" James nodded slightly, "When this is over I want you to hug your daughter tight and never let her go. I lost my father when I was younger. And I will most likely die never being able to say goodbye to my mother, because I left her in the human world for the girl I love, who will never know I love her back. And I just turned 18, I've only just begun living! And the reason I will die is to help the emperor live who really, as much as I don't want to say this, shouldn't be alive. So tell your daughter you love her everyday, because you never know when she will loose you or when you will loose her." Luz could tell what she said had affected James as he had a slight sniffle and his breaths were shaky.

"James! Enough chatting with the traitor. She's probably lying just to get you to release her" The other guard yelled as they approached the top floor of the tower.

"Oh eat a dick!" Luz yelled at the guard. Finally after several long minutes Luz was face to face with Belos. James and the out her guards holding her arms behind her back. She struggled against their grip and her urge to break away from them and push Belos off the top that damned tower,

"Luz the Half-Blood. It's so very nice to see you again. Take her to the dungeon." He said with a flick of the wrist. Annoyance built up in Luz at the thought of more walking endless flights of stairs. But after that thought she felt a sharp pain at the back of her neck before everything went black.

A large splash of cold water against her face had Luz waking up sputtering. She blinked the water from her eyes to see Belos mask less in front of her.

"Ew my paralysis demon is worse this time." She said struggling against the chains and leather bonds that held her to the X shaped piece of wood. Her hands at the tops of the two upper pieces and her ankles bound to the lower pieces.
