Y/n's Point of View

My heart beats slowly, my eyes half-lidded as I take deep, painful breaths. I was tossed off of the mountain near the end of my mission, that one last lucky bastard was able to get the hit on me.

Their chopper took off out of sight, the blades being barely audible to me as I was losing consciousness.

It was cold. Too cold for an operator like me to be out in the open. Slowly, I reach for my radio, having just enough strength to press the call button.

"Ex...traction... Mission.... failed. Dying..." I let out, coughing up some blood and mucus. "Now...."

A voice picked up, a new voice. "Operator down! I'm on my way! Try to keep away from the light!" The female voice crackled.

Was it Elena? Did Marius' comms break? Am I going delusional? None of those questions were answered.

Not only was I near dying and freezing, I also couldn't move. The frigid weather was proven too much for me, considering my armor was as thin as a piece of paper after the multiple gunshots it took.

Base camp was nearly thirty miles away from our target, and it didn't seem like I was going to make it. The sun was shining in my eyes, a small, pained smile forming on my face.

"This is it..." I say, coughing weakly. I growl loudly as I roll onto my broken arm.

Soon, I was clawing at whatever I could grab, dragging myself to a tree for a little shelter. I toss a flare in the open area, hoping that my savior would see.

Hours pass and I see no rescue in sight. The sun went down, a pink-orange hue taking the star's place.

One last try. I toss my other flare, gripping my chest while breathing heavily. I'd be dead meat if I were caught by someone other than whoever was coming to save me, especially since I only had five rounds in my pistol's magazine.

My vision started to darken, I was trying to keep awake. I didn't want to die, no one does. But I was willing to if it meant that the team would finish the job.

The wind howled in my ear, the freezing cold making my aches and pains even worse than before. The smoke of the flare flew to my left, almost out of fuel to stay.

Then, as my eyes were almost shut, a floodlight showered the smoke with light. The soft, heavy thumps of the blades pounded in my head as I lift my arm.

A helicopter landed at the site, where my blood led the way to my position. An unfamiliar logo was on the side, so I draw my pistol, aiming it at the potential threat.

"Stand... back..." I groan, pulling the hammer down as I couldn't slide the rail.

The figure raised its hands, saying, "Friendly! I'm with Team Rainbow!"

As any idiot would do, I put my gun down, really hoping that it was someone from Rainbow, though, it didn't sound like anyone I knew, or looked, for that matter.

The mysterious character raised what looks to be Lera's rifle, aiming left and right while shining a flashlight. I used all my strength to look over, finding nothing. Maybe she was with us.

"Don't move now." The feminine voice said, slinging the rifle on her back and kneeling down. "Doc had sent me."

I grit my teeth and groan as she tried lifting me up. The woman looked pretty, and strong as ever. She finally lifted my body, then escorted me to the chopper.

"You're going to be okay." She said, making a makeshift splint with a shirt. "Thunderbird, at your service."

"Thanks..." I grumble, clutching my chest again. "Dirt?" I ask, looking at her chin.
