Pure Heroine (Headphones)

Steel gray, black, stained white, billowy flow of faint orange dwindling in the wind.

The nightcrawled city blurs by the window, I hear the song
Gentle fluid seeping through my ears
Taming the wildfires inside my head
And around my seat
Where the world and my ears
Tact in an infinitesimal space

I breathe out and it goes,
The mist fogs up the scene-shifting glass
Two lightbulbs shut in the dark,
Time flies out of my mouth
And I feed my lungs with the infinite capsule of air around me

Oxygen
A poison that ascends you through life
To live on and see the daylight---a frozen fate
That breaks once the process stops.
