The start of a new life

☆ ☆ ☆

It had only been a few days after the Battle of Hogwarts, that the school had been fully rebuild and the survivors were finally allowed the opportunity to fully rest and recover.

And of course this included the Weasley family and everyone staying at the Burrow.

After setting up the sleeping arrangements, all the fully functioning adults with jobs decided to take a necessary break from work to spend time with their loved ones. And, unfortunately for Nicolai, that included the twins (more specifically Fred), both of which had decided to try and befriend the boy.

Which was, whilst greatly appreciated, slightly troubling considering the small, miniscule, crush he was starting to have of the oldest twin.

It was early on a Tuesday, three days after the death of Voldemort, that the world decided it truly hated Nicolai Amare.

At 8:30 in the morning, the brunette was woken up by the sound of knocking on his (or technically Ron's) bedroom door.

"Wake up!"

Came the now familiar shout of Fred Weasley, who had taken it upon himself to wake Nicolai up every morning since they arrived at The Burrow.

Only letting out a disgruntled groan in reply, the half asleep boy proceeded to bury his head as far as possible into his pillow.

Outside the door Fred chuckled in amusement and knocked once more before entering the room anyway.
Upon seeing what Nicolai was trying to do, the twin then slowly moved his hands towards the feet that were poking out of the end of the bet and pulled as hard as he could towards himself.

Nicolai let out a very manly squeal as he slid off of the bed and onto the cold, wooden floor. His gaze immediately shifted towards the ginger who was clutching his ribs in laughter above him, and softened for a few seconds before hardening into a playful glare.

"Did you just squeal?" Fred questioned after finally catching his breath. At the acknowledgement of what he had done, Nicolai felt his face grow warm as he shook his head in denial.

"No, I did no such thing!" Was the best reply he could think of in his flustered state.

'Thats adorable' Fred unconsciously noted upon seeing Nicolai's pink cheeks and obvious bedhead.

"Okay then, if you say so Nico!"

At that, both boys paused until 'Nico' raised an eyebrow in question and Fred let out an awkward cough.

"Sorry mate, it kinda just slipped out but if you don't like it then-"

"No, its ok, I actually kinda like it. But this does mean that I'm going to come up with a nickname for you now." Nicolai interrupted as he took in the dread in Freds facial expression when he mentioned giving him his own nickname.

After everyone was situated at the table and breakfast had been served, Molly decided that now would be the perfect time to bring up what she hoped would be the plans for today.

"I was thinking that maybe we could all go to Diagon Alley after breakfast so that we can buy new clothes and other necessary items for those who lost theirs."
