Caught red handed

☆ ☆ ☆

The kiss was magnetic, forming an overwhelming desire for something Nicolai couldn’t quite put a label on in that moment. This feeling settled in the pit of Nicolai’s stomach, burning like an unquenchable fire.

Neither boy could get enough of the others lips, already addicted to the buzzing it caused as each of their senses where consumed.

Fred absolutely loved how soft and delicate the smaller boys lips felt against his. His eyes were closed, the smell of lavender and vanilla from the boys perfume rolling against his body in powerful waves. His arms slid innocently around Nicolai’s waist, actively pulling the brunette as close to him as possible.

Nicolai’s arms made similar motions with the same objective. However, his arms situated themselves around Fred’s neck instead. His fingers crept up into the ginger hair of the person he was kissing, threading themselves to a point where he could grasp the back of Fred’s head, pushing it closer towards his own.

After a short while, Fred pulled back only slightly and opened his eyes. Immediately, he was captivated by the sight in front of him. Being so close to Nicolai, Fred could easily spot the small scar he had gained from a cut he had been given during the war; a scar that was a result of saving him.

“I like you, Nicolai Amare.”

Nicolai’s face scrunching up in disgust wasn’t exactly what Fred had wanted as a reaction to those words, however, the brunette was quickly forgiven when an almost silent sneeze escapes his mouth. Thus causing a fit of laughter to overtake the older Weasley twin, Nicolai blushing furiously in return.

“What the bloody hell kind of noise was that?"

“I sneezed.”

“That was not a sneeze.”

At this, the shorter boy drew back from Fred’s embrace, crossing his arms in embarrassed frustration. Fred just smiled teasingly at his actions.

“I hate you.” Nicolai muttered, his lips moving into a slight pout straight after.

“You love me.” Fred countered. However, at being met with zero denial of his tease on the brunettes behalf, his smile widened.

Nicolai remained silent for the next few minutes, his gaze slowly drifting up from the ground, gradually meeting Fred’s. the two seemed to be making a habit of staring into each other’s eyes for an almost uncomfortably long time. To outsiders, it may even look like they were having a staring contest, and maybe they were, however, none of that really mattered to them when they were together.

A couple of years ago, Katherine and Nicolai had been discussing the possible existence of ‘soulmates’, and the boys best friend had firmly stated her belief in such an idea. At the time, Nicolai hadn’t agreed with her, claiming that it was impossible to have someone who could be perfect for you in every way, exist.

But now? I’m not so certain.’ He thought, his attention pulled out of his thoughts when Fred began to speak once again.

“Did you just… agree with me?”

Upon realising what Fred was referring to and noticing the look on the gingers face, Nicolai immediately groaned. He tried his best to hide his own face in his hands in a naïve attempt to cover up his bright red cheeks.

“Merlin, Fred, I don’t know about love- ”

“Nope! You basically said it! No take-backs!”

When everyone returned later that evening, their conversations quickly became centred around the two boys they found cuddling inside a messy pillow fort. Fred had fallen asleep during the movie they had decided to watch, but Nicolai was wide awake and trapped in his iron grip.

When the brunette had noticed everyone crowding around the entrance of their lair, he quickly tried to shake Fred awake, ears and neck turning red in his flustered state of mind.

“Fred! Fred, wake up!”

“No- ”

“I will never kiss you again if you don’t get up this very second Fredrick Gideon Weasley!” Nicolai practically hissed into Fred’s ear, said boy took a second to process those words before shooting up in a startled gesture, whining at the threat being made.

Although his dramatic puppy dog eyes faded quickly upon spotting his family gathered around him, smirking at the two.

‘Why does it feel like we’ve practically been caught red handed for committing a non-existent crime?’ the ginger mentally questioned after what felt like an eternity of awkward silence.

As if reading his mind, George sent his twin a ‘we’ll take later’ look before ushering everyone out into the kitchen to give the two some privacy.

Nicolai and Fred crawled out from underneath the blankets and pillows and got to work in magically tidying everything away.

After finishing up, Fred poked his head around the doorway to see if everyone was distracted before dragging Nicolai towards him, their lips meeting much to the shorter boys delight. Nicolai was gently pushed into the wall, one of Fred’s arms resting beside his head as the Weasley boys free hand gripped his chin, pulling his face forward in a desperate act of attempting to swallow any sounds
coming from the boy he was kissing.

However, just as Fred made a move to ask for entrance into Nicolai’s mouth, they both quickly pulled apart at the sound of a throat being cleared behind them. George.

Merlin, Fred could murder his twin in cold blood right then and there for interrupting them, but a slight nudge from Nicolai gained his attention. The brunette wordlessly motioned towards George, who had started to walk up the creaky wooden stairs, and Fred nodded before moving to follow his brother.
