Her

The throne was
Cold as ever
It was crowded
In the court
But alone he was
And at peace
Until through a
Window of ice
He saw the spring
For the first time
He saw light
There she stood
In glory and glee
Ruling a portion
Of everything holy
And now a part
Of one dead heart
It changed things
Not around but within
The water was warmer
Coffee sweeter and
Hours ever shorter
Then came her grace
Her presence and
Words of soothsayer
It felt too good to be
Then again maybe
It was much and yet
He claimed the goddess
She never replied
But never left his side
Her kingdom was far
And she ruled still
But there was always him
At a distance, in depth
But for her? Always
There with the hounds
With grace at the end
Or the beginning it may.
